What did you pay for your CX-5?

2016.5 CX-5 Touring AWD 2.5 5 Miles on the Odo, MSRP was $27,415. Sell Price was $26,345 Plus $115 doc fees and something else so out the door was $26,512 Zoom Zoom!!!!!!

re: prices - Picked up my 2016.5 CX5 AWD Touring (new - from inventory) a few weeks back. Came from factory w/ installed: 2016.5 upgrades (Nav, blind spot, heatedseats, etc); Moonroof/ Bose; red paint($300); locking hubs; rear bumper cover and winter floor mats = MSRP of $29,100 . Dealer added roof side rails ($330), rear cargo cover ($190) = MSRP $29,620. Price was just about $1,900 off that w/ loyalty (family member has a Mazda 3) and a generous trade on my Forester* ($500 more than anyone else.)

This is the 17th car purchase (yes, I could draw my IRA) and this seems to be the pattern: it's hard to get much margin at all (dealers do not have much margin) especially on top Car &Driver rated cars. Want $7,500 off - go get a 2015 leftover Dodge truck.

good luck to all

* a great car, put 90k miles on it through some very tough NE winters, CX5 is better in snow!

Hi All,

Just joined the forum a few weeks ago. Will be buying a CX-5 either this week or next and was hoping you guys can give me your opinions. I currently am weighing too options. Both are from the same dealership and they offer free lifetime oil changes, state inspections, and towing.

2016.5 Black CX-5 Grand Touring AWD with Tech Package for $31,500 OTD
2016 Meteor Grey CX-5 Grand Touring AWD with Tech Package for $30,500 OTD.

Of 8 dealerships I contacted these have been the best quotes. I've been going back and forth with most of them but do you guys think I can drop below $30k OTD? I was preferring black but for a good price I could go with Meteor Grey.

Thanks for any input!

Go for the 2016 , really no difference except the 16.5 are priced higher . I got a 16 GT AWD with Tech for 29300 and some here are getting better prices . They want to move the 16 out .

You can get it for under $30k. What is their current selling price with any incentives or fees? OTD prices vary so much because of taxes etc, so their current offered selling price will tell more...

Well now I got them down to $30,500 OTD for the 2016.5 GT with Tech. Could I still drop it to under $30k or is this as low as it gets?

I picked up my Soul Red 2016.5 CX-5 GT AWD with tech and iActive packages, plus rear bumper guard and wheel lock today! MSRP is $34,155, I paid $30,862 + $599 process + taxes/title. This included the $500 loyalty bonus rebate. Pretty awesome deal I think and the dealer (Priority Mazda Tysons) provided the easiest buying experience I've had. I highly recommend them. As others have mentioned, they throw in a bunch of free customer benefits including oil changes for life.

Rosado, if the $30.5k includes taxes and fees, that sounds like quite the deal as well! Good luck!

Ive been in contact with them as well and agree they have been great to talk to, but they were decently higher than another dealer, but assured me they wouldn't be if I came in person. Im from out of town, so their extra Priority stuff does me no good, nor does coming in without the lowest price, but I haven't given up yet...their 599 processing fee puts them in the hole 300 and 400 from the start as well, so hopefully they will move on the price of the car some more to compensate.

What's the selling price? I asked questions before but looks like it got blended in with your post.

They broke it down in a written quote as follows:

Trim: Grand Touring (A6) 4dr All-Wheel Drive 2016.5
Color: Meteor Gray Mi

MSRP: $31,925.00
Sell Price: $29,094.21
Factory Rebate: ($500.00)
Total Sale Price: $28,594.21

Tax: $1,196.10
Title: $130.69
Processing Fee: $579.00

Balance: $30,500.00

Btw, this is for Tech Package.

Priority Mazda Tysons is also who I got the best quote from. However, I took that quote back to the original dealer I dealt with because it was closer to home, and they matched it. The catch with mine was that I was looking for a 2016 (which there aren't many left) and neither Tysons nor the dealership I bought from didn't have the color I wanted in stock, so they had to go down to Richmond to get it. If you don't care about having navigation, try to get a 2016 as you can probably get a better deal on it. Check out Brown's Chantilly, they had two 2016s left as of last weekend (black with parchment interior and blue with black interior).

I want blue reflex mica with tech package. I prefer 2016 for the $500 extra incentive on financing...

That's a good deal if it is, in fact, the 2016.5 (with navigation). I'd jump on that.

I got a quote on the exact same car. Quoted me $29988 for selling price. Told them it's too much. Your taxes are $900 more than mine though, and title is $70 more. Their processing fee is also $300 more than the other dealers. Which factory rebate did you get? Told them I'm a buyer in the mid $29k range which I believe is doable. Said they wouldn't be beating I showed up in person, but I'm 500 miles away and can't take that chance of coming home with nothing after being BS'd (been there and done that).

With my $30,500 OTD quote for a 2016.5 GT with Tech. Many other dealerships in the area have been requesting that I show them that quote in writing because it is too low to believe. After showing one dealer (Priority) the sales manager told me that the quote is bogus because they are including the $500 discount rebate. According to him, that discount cannot be applied to 16.5 models. Does anyone know if this is true?

It's true if you're talking about the financing rebate. Was told the same thing by other dealers as well. It's also why I prefer a 16 as well...

I tend to agree with Nelson. I'm pretty sure the only reason I got the $500 financing incentive was because I bought a 2016. Also, during my search, all of the dealerships wanted to see the quotes in writing. I assume because it shows the breakdown of how the other dealer is pricing it out/ what incentives they are using.

Just spoke with the dealer (Brown's Fairfax) that is offering the 2016.5 and he is reassuring me that the $500 discount is legit and applies to the $30,500 quote. Being that the 16 and 16.5 with tech package is virtually the same. I would think the competing dealer (Priority Tysons) can go lower than $30,500.

I can't believe they're offering you the $30,500, but won't budge on my $29500 offer, as I'm saving the extra $1k just in taxes alone, and am willing to come 500 miles by train to get the car this weekend...keep us posted, please...

FYI, Fitzmall offered me $30,200 if you haven't checked there, it may be worth it...hell, let's get good deals, together...
