The CX-5 LED Lighting Thread

How did you guys replace the driver's side front turn signal bulb? I tried removing the nut for fuse box & it's still clipped in some how. I gotta go from underneath?
Just took off the top of the air filter box to give me more room to reach the bulb.

Granted it would be fine for the most part. I would still double check. I would hate to have something go wrong and fry the PCM. The CX-5 isn't like other cars where individual electronic fuses, switches, etc can be swapped out if fried.

I will double check but using incandescent I see the following with my trailer.

- Brake Light Circuit is on 10 amp fuse and towing a trailer will leave 3 Amps spare for capacity. Stock consumption is 3.5 Amps.

- Tail Light Circuit is on 15 amp fuse and towing a trailer will leave around 3.8 Amps spare for capacity. Stock consumption is around 9 Amps.

Are there any special precautions one should take with the cargo light?

I can't remember if it was a TSB or read elsewhere but thought I saw it was easy to burn a fuse out if you aren't careful changing this specific bulb.
It's more than a fuse... it can blow out the rear body control module (or whatever it's called back there.) There's no independent fuse for that light. The best thing to do is just disconnect the battery when messing with that particular light. Short of that (no pun intended), disconnect the bulb holder wiring from the harness before messing with the bulb. If you short it (which is easy to do), you'll have a very large repair bill.

Yesterday I put the LED parkinglight into the units , the T10 W5W lamps are now comparing the Xenon-lights with 6000K, nice is n't it ?

Man.. the XB LED Fog lights from TRS is so tempting now.. $130 instead of $175 until June 20th using "HIDPXBLED"

Though I doubt it fits our fog light area without much modifications...

Which type is more suitable on mazda CX5? type S or type T?

no clue... someone should buy it and try it out... not sure how much modification would one need to do to fit them as I think those LED Fogs are a little bit bigger than ours. No news on "Type M" yet... there's going to be "Type H" for Honda... "S" was for Subaru; and "T" was for Toyota

I've bought different DRL (for xenon hid equipped cx-5) LEDs from ebay, those 18 led ones, they've all failed one way or another.
1 failed by half the leds would flicker or turn off.
1 failed by completely falling off the connector and rattling around the bulb housing.
1 failed by breaking and dangling by its own wires.

Anyone suggest any regular bulbs that's HID match or similar?

I agree, I just installed it yesterday!
That's why I'm asking about the LED bulbs.
I have a Touring with Tech (HID) and having a hard time to disable the regular DRL through the crazy method. Tech doesn't have the DRL fuse installed either.
Right now I'm using my broken drl bulbs with no bulb in it. But now thinking I'd like to put regular lights in there so i have 4 lights going during the day, the led fogs drl and the regular drl, but i dont' want to get crappy led drl cuz it will fall/break again... I can't find any regular bulb halogen hid matching bulbs...

nXt, were your failed LEDs cheap eBay stuff? If so, maybe investing in good quality stuff like from VLEDs would be an option. I'm afraid you'll have a hard time matching your HIDs with any thing else than LEDs...
