How to tell difference between '09 vs '09.5?

I've read that Mazda switched over to the spin-on oil filter during the latter part of the 2009 model year. During my research, I've noticed in pics that the radio surround has two colors (light gray/silver and a dark gray/black). Does the lighter silver indicate it's a Sport trim and the gray indicate it's a Touring/Grand Touring? I though maybe the darker shade meant it was the '09.5, but I don't think that's right.

Are there any other indicators to show that it's an '09.5? Anyone know the VIN range or Manufacturer date that it starts with?

EDIT - The date of manufacturer is 6/1/09 for the Mazda5s with spin-on oil filters. See URL below:

I have seen the VIN ranges, but can't remember where. I think it may have been on a parts site. Seems like the Mazda dealer that everyone used to use on here was the site. I can't remember the name.

if all you want is the spin-on oil filter, you can buy the parts separate and do the retrofit on any year

True. I actually did this when I had my '08 MS3. It wasn't a big deal and cost right around $100, but I was more curious than anything for the M5 as we continue to shop for one. It would be an added benefit for me if the one we're looking at already has the spin-on. I read the thread where M5 owners went back and forth regarding the pros and cons of spin-on vs cartridge. It's just a personal preference of mine to have a spin-on and a Fumoto valve to make things easier and less messy. Currently, I have that setup for my P5 and wife's Protege. Had it on the MS3 and the WRX before that as well.
