If you're a member of Mazdaspeed(which you should be!) you can now buy a whole ton of competition parts for the mazda2!

some notable mentions:

Cusco LSD
B-spec kit, and every single piece a-la carte
an entire ZY-VE longblock
front brake pad sets
Ecu reflash, or a reflashed ECU

and a ton more that aren't labeled enough for me to understand, such as socket FR(demio HID jpn)

Very interested(I'm going to wait to do one more event before submitting for a membership)... any idea on the price of the Bilsteins that are normally in the B-spec kit? And do you know if the valving/springs are the same as the B-spec kit or are they the off-the-shelf Bilsteins that you get elsewhere?

it was around $1250 for the coilover kit, the valving is stiffer than the pss9 bilstein kit(the non b-spec set), I'm not sure if the springs are stiffer but i heard the front struts are modified to allow a normal 2.5"ID spring to be mounted so you can use any aftermarket spring to get the rate you want.

The ECU raises the rev limiter up and gets you a few more ponies. It is the spec part the B-Spec cars use.

FYI. The B spec springs rates are supposed to be 350frt/275RR with revised valving.

I am pretty sure the b-spec rates are 450F and 500R. I know 500 in the rear is the max by the rules, but I could be off slightly on the front rate.

I think DanR is correct The B spec springs rates are supposed to be 350frt/275RR with revised valving. Before I bought the fiesta kit which are eibach 450F 500R I found the same result.

That could be, but I would be surprised if the spring rates were that soft. Especially since there are no sway bar changes. I wonder if any of the pictures of the kit shows enough to be able to read the number on the springs. Maybe Derrick can look on their car as well.

ok so I did some searching and found a list of Mazda's part numbers for the eibach springs. I also found the part numbers for the springs used in the b-spec kit. Dan was correct they are only running 350 in the front and 250 in the rear.

For reference.

I am just surprised since that isn't much stiffer than the stock springs for the PSS. Explains why the car rolls so much in Derricks pictures.

I was a bit surprised myself but the car handles really well, could be better with a little more negative camber on the front end though but the rules do not allow it.

That's why I was thinking they would have run the limit of 500 rears and ~450 or something fronts. To limit the roll because of the -2.5 degree limit. Oh well rules are rules. That's why I personally don't want to do spec racing. I see too many flaws in things and want to fix them.

FYI. The B spec springs rates are supposed to be 350frt/275RR with revised valving.

So if the Bspec shocks are valved for those rates, they can't be that much different than what the "old" Bspec kit Bilsteins are (ie Fiesta Autox kit with the PSS Blue springs)

No they would be valved similarly to the PSS kit. possibly 50-75#'s per corner. I imagine rebound would be higher as well which wont help bring the weight back to the front fast enough to get the car to rotate.

I must say that despite the initial issues I had with the tune (because I was using a mac) Dynotronics updated tune is great & worth every penny. Joe worked with me and even sent a PC for me to use and got me all sorted out. The car feels great all the way up to 6500 RPM then flatness out to 7400 RPM. Will be putting it on a dyno soon. I know Hollis made 104 HP with his custom header (published in GRM last year) so thats my benchmark. Get as close as possible to 104.
