My New STF project...

Hey Andres i wanted to ask you a question about your seats. From your pictures you look like a shorter guy, and being 5" 4" myself I'm kind of worried about how low I'll sit in an aftermarket seat. Since there is no height adjustment when you swap to an aftermarket bracket how did you accommodate that? I don't have my seat too high over stock, like a few pumps up, but I'm wondering if i would be able to safely adjust to a lowered viewing angle. If i drive with the stock seat all the way down, i can still see but it's definitely a reduced view when compared to 2 or 3 pumps up.

Sorry I did not answer earlier, trying to catch up after Nationals.
Andy's option is really good I did mine before seeing his , although I needed the back and forward adjustment and higher placement.
I used Kirkey's brackets and the rails from my old Spyder's set up. The driver seat's bracket is taller but also flimsy so I had to make an extra bracket.

Ty for the replies guys, you have both have very clever and awesome brackets, I've been looking at the sparco speed2 seats, they are a little down the road financially but I'll definitely keep these ideas in mind.

Andy thanks so going down to the STF Minimum of 25LBS per side were looking at approx 35-40LBS savings. Thatll put me at 2098 LBS i think..

What did you do about the airbag stuff? When disconnected, the dash goes all disco with flashing lights.

And I assume you re-attached the OE seat belt receiver to the new seat?

Andres what did you do to get the airbag lights to go away?

Andres, have you had any issues with the rivals so far? Any tread splicing issues? I hear 205s are the worst when it comes to tread splicing.

Cosmetic only. Ignore it. As you wear them down, it will actually go away.

As Andy said it , just cosmetic, but my only issue with them after having three sets already, they wear faster than the Rs3's unlike the rumors of being more resistant to wear. RS3's are awesome until they show cords, Rivals have a second layer underneath and once they starting to wear they go down really fast on performance, and then the outer layer starts peeling off..
Don't take me wrong those Rivals are really awesome at least for the first 50 runs.

The following pic shows the different layers of the Rivals: (caused by one event of locking my front tires due to an ABS failure after my mini battery died (after 2 years of faithful service) on me during my last Autocross)

Back to RPF1's......

I got a deal I could not pass on on these super light wheels. This might be the forth set of RPF1's I 've owned. Although they are 15x7, I always wanted to test them against the 15x7.5 UL's to prove to myself if width is more important than weight.

Soon I will be testing back to back 15x7.5 UL's (11.4 lbs website info) on 195-50-15 Toyos R1R VS. 15x7 - 35 offset Enkei RPF1's (9.9 lbs. tirerack info) on 195-50-15 Toyos R1R.

I know Andy might have done this years ago , but for years I just wanted to do it too ;) .

For now this is how my RPF1's look after I just picked them up (with some random tires they had on)

Looks like the damage I did to a few tires at the runoffs when we were having some ABS trouble. Feels like the car is coming apart with the vibrations at 100+ MPH.

Always do your own testing whenever possible.

The trick with the wider rims is that you can effectively run less air (more sidewall support). If you run both sets at the same pressures, you may not find much difference in performance.

LO ! Why took you so long ? Thanks for the input as always.

BTW Talked to the guys at AST , emailed three times, they say they were going to ask you, like two months ago or so...

So i had some free time this afternoon, and with the weather being cooler I decided to get some dyno numbers to see the improvement with the latest CAI, to use it as a baseline to check the short muffler numbers next week. A little improvement shown on the corrected view

2.43 HP gain and 2.82 lbs Torque improvement probably from the new CAI

Corrected readings:

Uncorrected:Showed what the car really did under the actual cooler weather conditions

Ooooo that is a great idea! I'm curious to see how the auto does with no tune. If you have a smartphone I reccomend you download the app called Torque and then buy an OBD2 bluetooth reader off of eBay they got for like $10 and it's awesome. The app tells you everything the ECU can spit out. You can get AFR, Coolant temp, Catalyst temp, Timing, 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, it gives you engine speed... There are so many things google it and you will see. Thats the app I use to get my 0-60 times and my AFR reading along with coolant temp because the 2 didnt come with a gauge for temps

Since you mentioned the Torque app, I had it for a while and always got low 17's for the 1/4 mile before so today leaving the dyno I went to a quiet location and ran once; don't know how accurate these numbers are, but until I have time to take it to the drag strip i got this:
