The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Found someone selling MS3 axles on Ebay. Says it's 100% brand new, OE quality. You guys think this will be good? Or does it looks like it's just a cheap replacement axle (like the cheap ones from rock auto, etc)?

#2, don't you have two timed events? If so, sign up for Mazdaspeed Motorsports and get the axles from them. Let me know if you need help, I can reach out the guys, as they all know me and I can get expedited for you (membership).

Unfortunately, I only have 1 timed event so far this year. My 2nd event will be the Corey Invitational and after that event, I was planning on signing up for Mazdaspeed Motorsports. Would someone be able to look on the Mazdaspeed catalog and see how much the driver side axle is?

As far as Nelson goes... the track is rough, but what's worse is the runoff area. Very uneven and/or non-existent. Particularly the carousel area. I've seen first hand people go over the tires and end up on their roof or wedges against trees. Bad news.

I was just thinking about this. I wish I had a picture of the E30 Chumpcar from last year. Had a small off on the back straight. Kept it going the correct direction and was working on getting back on track. Found a bump in the grass and did a Dukes of Hazzard move. Ended up shoving the core support back a couple inches and pushing the radiator into the fan. If I could access Flickr at work, I have a few other pictures of cars that had offs in the same area and were just bouncing all around the place from it.

#2 you had me scared and I went right home after school and checked my boots. All is good fortunately. I need to make a check list of stuff to go over before Mid Ohio

I have a feeling it was torn before the autox on Sunday. How many miles do you have? I'm at 106k, but not making much more power over stock.

Weather and age kills boots. Power and driving like an idiot will break the joints themselves.

would rubber conditioner keep them around longer? My boots look really clean and healthy right now

If they look fine and aren't brittle I wouldn't worry about it. As long as the clips hold up and you don't get any cuts in them you'll be fine.

I doubt there is much you can do to keep the boots longer. Salt does not do well for rubber, neither does sitting in one position.

Don't waste your time or money. Just drive it as normal. When they go, they go. That's all you can do.

Also... WTF at the Ohio Mazdaspeeds people. "Silly 350z couldn't hang at 150" Really? ******* morons.

And yes. Much like my calling out of MSF back in the day, I hope that message gets to the appropriate people. Stupid s*** like that is why I don't want to be associated with idiots like that.

I agree, that's just asking for trouble in all kinds of ways.
Also saw that today is the court date for that street racing charge the other OMS guy has.

Correct. Don't worry about it.

I wouldn't count on it. I'm not sure who runs that page, but they don't seem to care about that sort of talk.
