The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

While driving today, after reading your post this morning about cars and such. It made me wonder straight-up from the factory which car is better, a Mazdaspeed 6, or Mazdaspeed 3? Just wondering, and let me know your opinions. Oh and no fighting.

2007 MS3
060 5.6 seconds
1/4 mile 14.1 @ 100.6 mph
skidpad .88g
cargo capacity 17 cubic feet with the rears seats up and 42.8 cubic feet with the rear seats folded

2006 MS6
0-60 5.4 secondss
1/4 mile 14.0 @ 99 mph
skidpad .87g
cargo capacity 12.4 cubic feet

Overview: The MS6 will move slightly faster from a stop.

How big of a weight difference? I don't know why all this time I assumed the 3 was quicker all around.

2007 MS6 (http://www.caranddriver.com/feature...-2007-25000-to-30000-2007-mazdaspeed-6-page-6)
DIMENSIONS:
Wheelbase: 105.3 in
Length: 186.8 in
Width: 70.1 in
Height: 56.3 in
Curb weight: 3589 lb

2007 Mazdaspeed 3 (http://www.caranddriver.com/feature...to-25000-third-place-2007-mazdaspeed-3-page-9)
DIMENSIONS:
Wheelbase: 103.9 in
Length: 176.8 in
Width: 69.5 in
Height: 57.7 in
Curb weight: 3180 lb

Not nearly as big of a weight difference as one would think, considering that includes an electronic rear differential and associated hardware/driveline

I like the size of the MS3 better, but I prefer the sedan to the hatchback. The fact that the MS6 was a limited run has a lot of appeal to me. If I had the choice between a new MS6 or new MS3 when I bought the MS3 back in 2008, I probably would've chosen the MS6 instead. It'd be a really tough call though I like so many things about each vehicle.

Yea, its a bit heavy. Although, the v6 Mazda6 has a curb weight of 3241 lbs. Difference isn't bad for an AWD system.

and the new skyactiv 6 is supposed to be all about lightness and it weighs 3183 MT & 3232 AT

Which really isn't all that bad for a car of its size. It's a bit bigger than the 1st gen 6.

I figured they would be restricted some with saftey equipment required now, didn't realize it's also bigger. Well, besides the 19" wheels.

anybody else read about the possibility of a N/A MS3 w/ around 200 hp?
