What have you done to your P5 today?

After wrenching here and there over the past few weeks, today was a 14-hour thrash session to get my 10-year-old Mazda ready to sell tomorrow. It spent a week at the detailers, had the leather redone, new stereo, new tires ... just got back from a spirited shakedown run (Zoom-zoom) ... gonna miss her. LOTS of PRIMO parts going up for sale soon ...

Drank 5 beers and installed maxbore throttle body. Stock bore 54.2mm maxbore 58.4mm. Back to the drawing board tuning idle.

I drank 3 last night.... but didn't accomplish anything. However, I am mulling over some ideas that stemmed from those 3 magnificent fluids.

Was About To Pull Out Of My Driveway And Head To Work When I Noticed Something Leaking... Stopped To Check And It Was My Thermostat Housing.... Not Sure Why It Leaked... Everything Was Tight... Went Ahead And Bought A New Thermostat Gasket And Installed It... Had To Take Out The Down Pipe Because It Was Blocking The Bottom Bolt... Said What The Hell Since The Down Pipe Is Off Anyways And Had Some Exhaust Wrap Just Sitting Around Might As Well Wrap It...

Finally got the audio installed after way too long. So here it goes:

Fountek 89's in the A-pillars. Pioneer Premier PRS880 & ZED Audio RA in the dash. AA Carbon's in the doors.

I am still tuning everything. Not ready to demo just yet. I am extremely happy with the Fountek's so far. So much so, I am almost kicking myself for not going full range before. The staging, presence and level of detail is very surprising. Better then most any off-axis small format tweet I can remember, even in SQ competitions & SBN's I have attended over the recent years.

The Fountek's are coming in at 1,250hz at a 24db slope, seeing minimal power. 8ohms and near zero gain from the Draconia and Matrix. The Carbon's are picking up around there and going down to 63hz, where the sub is coming in.

At the moment, the SSA Fcon (yes, the only one in existence ) is in there in a 1.1 cube sealed box. All the SDS is doing wonders.

Yesterday my PS cooler decided to s*** the bed after a somewhat spirited drive over some really bumpy road. So today I removed the cooler along with the PS/AC belt. Not sure I'll stay like this for very long, driving a P5 without power steering is a pain in the ass...
 
PS is awesome but alas I have none.
Driven my car for the first time with the 3" exhaust. Feels much better all around.
3" cermic/titanium heat wrapped downpipe->3" mandrel bent piping->apexi n1 muffler. Just a little louder then my previous setup with 2.5" pipes.
