So, I came across this product from Duplicolor:

http://www.duplicolor.com/products/shadow/

I picked it up a few days ago and today started going to work on my badges.

Masked and ready to go...

It was a little splotchy when I put on the shadow coat. That may be because my spray fu is weak. So far just the front badge done. I've removed the rear badges, and when I get them done I'll post pics, too.

Badges? Badges?! We don't need no stinkin' badges!

Painted the rear badges last night. Here they are just stuck on (still need to clean the area and use new tape):

Now, if I can ever get to where I can afford a projector retrofit kit, I'll use this stuff on the headlight reflectors, too. Maybe go darker, though.

That looks really interesting. I've only painted mine black, I kinda like the way those look though

Yeah, I guess I just wanted to go with something a little different. The matte or glossy black look is good, but when I came across this I just had to try it out.

Kinda sad that it wouldn't go with my color scheme because I like the different look that gives off.

Cool. I like how you masked off the front badge. I'll probably do it like that when I plastidip mine.

I pulled mine off to plastidip them. I looked at my tape, looked at the car, then back to the tape...then walked to get my picks and fishing line.

The front badge is held in with screws, the best I can tell. And those screws are pretty hard to get to. You can see them, but you can't get anywhere close to a good angle on them with the other stuff mounted behind it. That's why I masked the front badge, but removed the rear badges.

It didn't have any screws when I took mine off. It was all a bunch of push clips. One on top and two on the sides I believe.

I see. I guess I just saw some screws on the back and assumed they held the badge on. Wish I had tried harder (short of damaging it, of course). Oh, well. All done now.

Looks awesome. I might try that. Since my car is black I want something like that so I don't overdo the black.

I'll plasti pid them in place, I look at the vids of dip your car.com and it seem easy enough. I'm going for flat black for mow but I way do a silver metalizer on top when I do the wheels.

Looks great by the way
