What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Oil Changed with 5w20 Mobil 1, K&N Oil Filter
Changed Cabin Filters ( used ramps to lift front end, much easier that way!)
Air Filter changed with Air Raid Oil-less

Rather impressed with the construction of the Air Raid, more so than the last K&N air filter I bought. Don't like the oiled filters on newer cars, we'll see how this does.
Got for a decent price on Amazon.

Changed brake fluid. Noticed left rear shock leaking with only 28k miles? Looks like the KYB GR2 is a safe bet, but I'll take any other suggestions...

Also had the back windows tinted to 35% for the kiddies. That way I could take down the kiddie shades, which they kept playing with. Looks good, should have been that dark from the factory. Could have gone to 20%, but too dark for a silver car. Wanted dark, not attention grabbing dark.

Questioning leaky shocks @ 28k? You must be new here.
At any rate, I think pretty much anything is going to be better than OE shocks/struts. KYB, Monroe, etc...maybe stay away from no-name stuff on ebay, just to be safe.

Retuned car to stock and removed:
MS3 brakes
Goodridge lines
Canister base
Fumoto valve
5pt grounding kit
Roof rack

Sold car in stock form.

Yesterday, I drove it to my sister's house near Richmond for Christmas with the family. Five people in the car: Wife and I up front, Mother-in-law and Father-in-Law in the middle, son on the left in third row, with his new Android tablet plugged in to the cargo area 12V outlet. Plenty of room next to and behind him for gifts, etc.

Nice vehicle to have for little road trips like that. :)

Whoa! Why and what'd you get as a replacement?
The same thing :D

Please send me: MS3 brakes and Goodridge lines for Christmas. Kthxbai :D
If I didn't get another Mz5, I would have sold it back here for cheap; I always give back to communities that I'm active in. Now I have to put these parts onto the new car + the yellowspeeds still waiting in the garage.

Oh no biggie. I just have to order all the parts myself for her car when it's time!

Oh yeah....! just bought a 2008 5, love it so far. I have Megan springs and a Thule roof rack already to go on tomorrow. What do ya think..?

Nice! I really like these in white, but I couldn't have a white one with a stick, so.... :(

I have a white one with stick... :p
LOL!
I seriously though about an 06-07 white, stick, and GT package but considering the weak AC (just say no to R134a and HFO-1234yf) and how hot/humid summers can get around here, I just can't make my kids live without air in the back. I went through a summer in a Miata without AC -ugg. I swear never again and would never put my child through this. Even last summer was hard as they were sweating in the back and I can tell the rear AC helped. I'm trying to see if I can tap in to the heat plumbing too :P If heat/humidity is not an issue for your area, I may consider the earlier models. I still don't understand Mazda's logic on limiting the manual option to base models if they are truly a “zoom-zoom” company. I've read that Mazda, along with other manufacturers like Hyundia/Kia, only keep the manual as a way to promote and offer the vehicle at a low "listed" MSRP to attract buyers. Adding content (for example the optional auto or making you get a higher trim) = more shady way of making profit, IMO.

But yeah, I do think white really brings out the car but I'm bias and wouldn't mind ALL of my cars white :D

Put in battery #4 last nite. Couple of grumbles: besides the fact I've owned it less than 4 years and have put in 2 batteries now, I have some beefs with Autozone now as well.

FYI, All, Autozone has raised battery prices and reduced warranties. Prices on red batteries, have been climbing up - now $100. They were $82 3 years ago. And, red batteries only have a 2 year free replacement, NO Pro-rata warranty past 2 years. Since batteries in the Mz5 tend to last about 3 years, that makes it a $100 throwaway battery. So you have to pay $120 for a 35D battery, which <pros> have better specs incl much better CCA, but <cons> is over 1" taller. Anyone who has already wrestled with the positive pole knows that the cables barely fit over the pole on the shorter batteries. Well, it did fit - BARELY with some work. All this was done near or below freezing, outside, with a good wind. Our weathercasters don't know what wind chill is, so I can't report what it was like, but bare hands, metal and grungy clothes so that battery acid won't burn holes in my winter gear summed up a night that was almost as bad as snow camping Fri nite at 8000' in 10" snow at temps between 9F and 19F.

Installed a custom box with 15" Audiobahn sub, RFamp, cap and fuse block. And then took some foto's...!

Tight fit in the back with the seats up but it fit.

front with the seats folded down and the cover on.

The cap and fuse block's fit nicely under the middle seat.

This is the amp's remote output control in a easy reachable spot.
