Will these tires work?

Hi everyone I'm new here,

I just bought my first Mazda (5 GS) so far it's great. I have some slightly used winter tires from my old Matrix.

They were 215-50/r17 (yes 17" rims) 12.73" radius (my own calculations)

My Mazda has 205-55/r16 12.43" radius (again my own calculations)

By my calculation there will be a .3" difference in radius. However my calculations could be off.

I know the GT model can use 17" rims, it has the same engine, with what must be a setting in the computer for the size of tires.

However can I get away with this? Any warranty issues? Other issues etc.

You're off by 2.4% with the new tires, so you'll be fine. You can safely have up to a 3% difference.

Yup, totally fine- it'll even make your speedometer read closer to actual than your stock tires.
