2001 mazda protege mp3
Trying to decide if I should keep my mp3 or sell it as it needs a lot of work, plan was to keep it and buy something else for my fiance to drive and I dd it while I build my 323 but as I add everything up I want to keep it less and less

As of right now it needs

Piston rings
Valve seals
Synchros
All struts as they have 166 k on them
Springs- rears are sagging
Tires
Caliper and rotor
Front bumper has a crack and clear coat is peeling on drivers door

I love the car but at this point I'm not sure if it's worth keeping

definitely a lot of work, I say sell it and try to make sure it'll go to someone who will rebuild it. and then get a miata! haha

Going off of used prices in my area I'm probly gona ask around 4500-5000. May be steep to some people but Hondas with 300k+ miles sell for $3k.

Blue Book is $3,700 for excellent condition. Considering all the work, I would think you're going to have to go below that.

When I bought my Protege, it had 76k, new tires, and no problems for $6000. Sorry but your MP3 sounds like a $3200'er.

I said asking price not taking, really it's worth like 3, but as I said used car prices are rediculous in my area

I looked at a 99 civic si today actually had 145k on it with minor bolt ons and guy wanted 8k for it

I'm just saying that with all those things wrong with it, I think you'll be disappointed with the price you'll get.

Buy an FS-ZE and put that in (or a KL-ZE).

Get a gearbox from a wrecked p5 on forums, get tokico suspension kit. The rest is just normal wear and tear that any car gets.

THIS! I say you tear it down and build it from the ground up.
