Protege5: Harder, not Smarter!

It's amazing watching your skills grow every time you try something and try it the second time. It's amazing how much one can learn from trial and error. *le Gasp* lolz

Popped the front part off crazy easy, barely needed an wedging at all, so that was good. Mold is insanely stiff it weighs a LOT probably close to 40 pounds, around stock hatch weight. This thing will be nice and durable, no warping here!

But...there are 2 wrinkly area's that the gel coat messed up on. I'm not sure why this happened, from my online research I believe its one of two things.

Either I mixed a wrong portion of cataylst into the gel coat and that screwed something up....or...the more likely problem I waited to long between gel coats. Probably while mixing up more gel coat for my spray gun since that was the first time spraying gel coat and I didn't know how much I needed.

Anyways...I'll have to repair these 2 sections...gah so much for no sanding.(yawn) Anyways, off to Boring Oregon this weekend so I won't be making the hatch till I'm back...I dieing to try it out, besides the 2 bad patches, it is SWEEEEEET. Both mold parts click together perfectly, these edges should come out fantastic looking I really cannot wait.

Upside down rabbit supports with thread.

lol wat.

is that a dead rabbit or live? lol

That is my live rabbit (poke) It lives in my living room..behind the couch...usual spot for house rabbits right?

*grumbles* Tomorrow I'll work on my hatch mold some more....I just got back from Tacoma Aerosmith/Cheap Trick concert....yep....amazing.
Thumbs up to whoever parked next to us in the red speed3 with the zoom zoom decals, forget to take a pic. Almost got run down by half a dozen p5's driven by old drunk people though...derp

I have A red ear slider turtle too, that's it for unusual pets, everything else is normal.

He's adorable. likes to bite on your feet and toes playfully. I love the way they run and jump and do everything else since they're elongated. When he gets off the bed, he throws his front feet out to land and the back of his body to kind of falls and coils up behind him. It's not graceful at all and I love it. He hunches in the middle since he is so long and jumps sideways when he's play fighting.

AWWWWWwwww...reminds me of my rabbits when they were younger, they would bounce off the walls...literally doing backflips...it was so much fun to watch. Do ferrets house train easily?

Laid down 15 layers of PVA on front and back of the mold, followed by 25 mils thick gelcoat...Hard to tell a differance with orange on orange :)

This week when I need more supplies I'm gonna pick up some white gelcoat to contrast the orange, also gonna take a look at their carbon fiber stuff....thinking bout getting a small bit to play around with...test the waters so to speak. Might also pick up a gelcoat dump gun....unless you've actually tried spraying gelcoat with a 1mm nozzle with a spray gun...and then tried cleaning it...you will never understand how much I loathe and fear gelcoat time. Dump guns use paper cups basicly with 5 mm nozzles...and all you end up cleaning when your done is the nozzle...that would be....so great, I'll bite the bullet and shell out the cash just to never have to clean that spray gun.:'(

All dem Mazda's in the background (headbang)

I had to cut my passenger side mirror apart...whoever designed that side mirror was a retard....but...anyhow...I'm building a mold of this first part, which I will then cut up, and build a mirror block off plate plug. Then I'll try some carbon fiber out on the plate and see how it goes.

Guess I should have taken that sculpting class....=P

EDIT: Oh yea...almost forgot to add. I picked up a sweeeeeet Suzuki sportbike throttle body assembly. You know what that means. *wink wink*

Still redesigning my big mustang throttle body too...so...I'll be using that until the throttle bodies are machined to match my head which is gonna take some work.
Between this and building my ECU and turbo....so much stuff to do...AAAAHHH

depends on the ferret and the teacher. They are fairly trainable. Little fact, Ferrets back into corners to use the bathroom. Ours would use a corner in master bathroom so if you know their spot, they like to go in one place. We have a large cage to keep him in so he's not out all the time. He has a triangle shaped litter pan he uses.
