M Factory Gears?

Would you Guys buy custom mfactory gears for the mazdaspeed protege if they sold them? Ones that would break the 300hp or so limit that the stock tranny has? I was talking to some one at M factory about this and gave the idea to post on a Forum to see if people had any intret, so that what im doing? Any opinions on it?

well as far as i kno when i told them how much they sell thiers for which is around 4,500$ they said it wouldnt be near that much but i havent said a estimate yet.

If they can make it at 300ish $ a gear set, and they can hold 500 HP easy. Then yes put me on the list to buy 1 to 5th! (if they make overdrive longer that would be better as well. All the top gears!)

ya, i havent got an official price but it would help if anyone agrees they should do this to email them or contact and ask about it or let them know the more people that show interest the higher the probability this will happen! I know the other gearsets they make hold up to 800hp-1000hp, so im assuming it could hold 500hp easily.

Email sent asking for 1 to 5th with a longer overdrive for around 500$ a gearset and I would be game. but they HAVE to be straight cut for how they brake from twisting the trans case so bad. if they are not straight cut they will still break.

I'd be in IF they can "warranty" against breakage or something like that,cause does it make sense to buy a product for 2k and have it break 6 months later??? PAR has been know do so. I have the MFactory LSD and have NO COMPLAINTS,I too have called them to inquire and 500 per set sounds about right. I'd like gears that can hold up to 700hp. If anyone ask why they should'nt be in this GB.....This is the ONLY thing holding us back from being able to run with the "big boys"

yeah and 2700$ for their gearset + LSD in the end would not be bad at all compared to over 7k for PAR gear set.

megacycle has the integral cam grinds right? and 2700 for the trans/LSD is definitely a helluva good deal

I talked to megacycle and they offer regrinds for 850 but they strongly suggested I contact tindol motorsports for a billet cam. However, I have been unable to contact them.

Hello Ryan,

Thanks for your email. We're always willing to develop new products for
the market but like many things in any industry, we will only do so if
there is enough demand.

We are a small manufacturing outfit but we have the capability to
produce and forge world class drivetrain components as evidenced by our
heavy involvement in club racing. If you feel there is enough demand,
we hope that you will be able to help drum up enough interest through
your network to enable us to go into production.

We will require a commitment of 10sets of these gears. The details
regarding gear ratios and materials will dictate the final cost. But we
will require a stock (good working condition) gearset to take
measurements from and this ensures that fitment is perfect.

The time it takes to develop a gearset normally takes between 4-6
months. The last setup we successfully developed is being used by the
Dodge Neon SRT-4 community with great results as their main focus is
primarily drag racing with engines producing well over 600whp.

Got that same email back from them. Sadly I dont see them making these just because not everyone has money to put up for it at once. I know I would buy but wont be for a little bit
