I finally did it three!

I recommend against a harness unless you change your seats.
?
hey mahk.. How hard was it to install that rollbar. I want to put something into my miata (preferably a boss frog dual hoop)

As most of you know, I'm mechanically inept and I'd need help lol.
not hard at all, just time consuming
You would not like a harness for a daily driver. What size for the tires?

can't i use the oem one for DD?
tire size: 205/45R16

Proper way to install harnesses is like this.

Harnesses installed like mine aren't looked highly upon by SCCA / NASA.

well i'm glad i asked...bob was suggesting i get them for the autox, he said they mad a big difference for him

i'm keeping the 16" enkei rpf1's for now, so i'll need some new "quiet" sticky summer rubber...those spec II's are just so loud with the top up!

See, that's your problem. You are doing it wrong, TOP ALWAYS DOWN! lol The Conti Extreme Contact DW's that I have aren't that bad in the road noise dept. IMO.

Mahk, trade me exhausts and you won't have to worry about tire noise...

hrm... so what would I need to do to bribe a few NEPOC folks to help out :P
it wouldn't take much for me, let me know when you want to do it...maybe at our spring meet, if i still have the house.

haha....i'll check them out

then i'd lose my hearing for ever!

Wait, wut? You and Robin might be out of the house by this Spring?! If you are still in the house and have the Spring meet you are more than welcome to drive the car to get to road test them.

we can only hope! we have someone interested.....thanks, but i'm hoping to have the tires on by then, maybe...

Star Specs are very good. Quiet also.

GRM was testing tires on their miata and found that Hankook
Ventus R-S3 Z222
were even better than the Star Specs

awesome, i'll check them out, thanks brucey

Mark -

If you have the rolbar then you can use a harness for autocross only! That's what I do with the stock seats on my maita. They cannot be use for daily driving or any track event unless they are used with a performance replacement seat as Phen mentioned. I have used some sort of harness for autox with three different cars, the P5, RX8 and now the MX-5. It does make an significant difference in keeping you planted even in a stock seat while autocrossing. Except maybe Bruce, he drives too slow to make a difference, could probably leave the door open. (lol2)

Hmm, what's the rim width? You could try a 215 or 225.

Ahh Bob, I miss your small intellect!! How's the family doing??

Mark, your going to have to decide whether the car is a daily driver or a track car at some point. It will always be a compromise.
