2003 mazda protege/mazdaspeed
I have a 2003 Protege/ mazda speed and i took off my maf today to see if mabye it needed cleaning. I took off my negative bat post and and took the sensor out and it looked nice and clean so i put it back in, i took it out afterwards and now its cutting out really bad around 4000 rpm and has no power.... HELP PLEASE!!! IM FREAKING OUT
 
how long did you drive after you put the MAF back on. You probably didn't drive long enough to let ECU readjust
 
well just a few minutes up the highway.. when i noticed the cutting out i went back home.. how long would this take to adjust?
 
just reread your post, does it cut out in boost around 4k? If so, it might just be the crappy stock tune. It's pig rich so it's dumping a lot of fuel.
 
It doyees seem like it doesn't want to boost..would UN hooking the battery delete my tune because it wasn't doing this before..
 
i did plug everything back in, drove the car alittle tonight to see what happend and its still doing the same thing. Im going down the road and try to give it gas and it just cuts out, the car shuts off sometimes and sometimes when its cutting out if i let off the gas alittle it will go again. the car had alittle bit of a rough idle before i unhooked anything, this was my reason for taking the maf off but wish i didnt even mess with it. ANY tips you guys may have would be greatly appreciated..
 
also did you make sure clamps were tight? if air is being sucked in right after the maf that could cause pig rich? just throwing it out there.
 
you should recheck your clamps thats a for sure and check your vaccum lines you might of forgot to plug one back in. also check you cold pipes it might be loose.
