The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

what cool stuff did everyone get today!?!?!?!?!

i got a pittsburgh aluminum rapidpump low profile floor jack, pittsburugh allan wrenches, a new craftsman multimeter, modern warfare 3, dollarz, a leather riding jacket, shoes, clothes and many other awesome things!

hope everyones christmas was merry!

I'm not a big fan of Modern Warfare 3. It's a good game, but I got bored after playing it for 2 hours. To me, it just felt like an expensive MW2 map pack...with a few extra features. I think they need to stop releasing a new game every year! I got Battlefield 3...I can't stop playing it!!!!!

I got a new phone for Christmas...Samsung Galaxy Nexus!! Well, I got it December 15 when it came out, so it was an early present haha I've been waiting to get a new phone since July when my contract ended. I must say, this phone is awesome. Especially the 4G internet speeds...I can't believe it's faster than my home cable internet HAHA. The best part is that I still have my unlimited data package :) That's the only reason my family stayed with Verizon. They don't offer unlimited data packages anymore.

O ya...another fun thing that happened last weekend is my valve stem on one of my winter MS3 wheels cracked. I was putting air in it and when I pulled the nozzle off, the stem broke and all of the air came out. I quickly got the jack and lifted the car off the wheel (I didn't want to risk damaging the tire or rim with it having no air at all in it). I think the stem was already cracked though because I'm always gentle when filling air. I put air in all tires 2 days prior, but the TPMS was yelling at me. When I checked the psi, it was down to about 13psi. So my best guess is that there was a tiny crack already in the stem. Maybe it's a good thing I broke it...that would have sucked to break while driving on the highway!!

So I'm pretty sure I have to buy a whole Tire Pressure Monitor because I think the stem is part of it. I'm going to look online and see what I can find. Hopefully they aren't too expensive!

i have one of those buffer/polishers and I've never used it...I'm always afraid i'm gonna rip the paint off or something.

Ya if you're not careful, you can definitely mess up the paint. I don't like the risk, so I just use some old fashioned elbow grease.

did just the inside piece break? or the actual outside valve stem? if its the inside piece they are easy to replace from a kit from autozone.

either way, you shouldn't need a new TPMS.

I believe it's just the outside valve stem that broke. I've never actually seen the TPMS so I'm not sure what they look like. I'll take a look online and see if I can get a better mental picture of it.

And what did Justine get for Christmas, Chippy?

Congrats again, mate!

Did someone get a ring?

that's what I was wondering...

A camera-- Nikon Coolpix S3100 in pink ;)

And to clear up any confusion/dissapointment/whatever, Justine did get a ring along with the camera. I was waiting for her to chime in, baiting her into the conversation, but she wanted me to tell you since she has told everyone else on both sides of the family.

Pics are on Facebook if you'd like to see. I will accept friend requests, but do not submit friend requests except in extreme situations. I dunno, I'm weird like that. I feel like if someone wants to be my friend, then they will ask me. Anyways.....maybe planning for sometime in summer of 2013... Thanks for all the kind words (both on Facebook already and in advance)!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

congrats man!!

also i think the mw3 online is a lot more fun than the campaign. the campaign was really cool but it was just too short. i just wanna hop on live with it, its a really good live game.

Sounds like me and April. We will be together for 10 years next year and are finally sealing the deal in August. Congrats man.

I don't have a lot of room to talk, it took me about 10 years to ask Amber on a real date

went to look at a 6 wagon today with high hopes, it only took 1 minute to be incredibly sad. I know with a 8 year old car car it's not going to be showroom perfect but it was not well taken car of by previous owners. On top of that that engine burns oil and makes a ticking noise and has just random little things missing like panels. The clean carfax was the only good thing going for it unless I was looking for another project but even then it's still priced too high.

That's how it goes, unfortunately.

When I was going to go to Cincy a few weekends ago, it was to take a friend to look at/buy a '00 Civic Si, 1 owner, w/47K and an almost clean carfax, just 1 "minor" incident when the car was 2 months old. They wanted $9500 for it, and you'd think a car with those credentials and that price tag would be immaculate. Nah...wasn't the case at all. Luckily Jon was able to get some close up pics for us before we drove 4 hours each way, thing was WASTED. Needed a new front bumper, the headlights didn't fit for s***, hood was all chipped up and faded, giant dent in one of the doors, rear bumper was damaged, dent in the deck lid, under the hood looked like it hadn't been opened in 5 years, and all 4 wheels had some NASTY corrosion on them. It was jaw dropping that they'd even advertise it for that price.
