Aggressive fitment anyone?!

Planning out my rebuild for the Volks. I am getting them custom rebarreled into 3 piece wheels. I want to go wider and fill out the fenders perfectly without excessive camber or the AAC link kit. I want to keep the car at the same height. Currently I am at 17x8 +25/+30 with 205/40's.

I would like to go with 17x8.5s and want to see what you guys think about offsets and tire sizes:

Offsets
+30 seems about perfect for the front, as it would put the outside of the wheel at the same place as present
+40 for the rear would bring it in 5mm from current, which would stop me from hitting rim on fender on big bumps lol. Will this clear on the inside?

Or I could put them square at +35 for the same lip size all around and need to run a little more camber in the rear for clearance. Thoughts?

Tires
I want to run a bit wider just because I am going turbo. Thinking 215/40, but for rear clearance I was also thinking 225/35 front, 205/40 rear. Thoughts?

The +40 with a 215/40 should fit as long as you keep the camber under 1.2 degrees. Front will fit perfect with a 215/40 and +35 offset. Imo, 225 in the front would be a big headache getting it to fit. That said you should be able to make it work with a +40 offset, may be even a +35

Under 1.2 degrees in the rear? I am already at 2.3 lol. Or will the tire/wheel hit the strut?

I really wish the rear fenders were as wide as the fronts so I wouldn't have to run reverse staggered to fill out the fronts.

Yeah man, you'll come real close to the strut. The ACC kit is ideal honestly. You can fit 9s and 235s front and rear!

evo x rims on a p5 anyone done it? i bet they have i just wasent able to find anything on it. need to know if ill need spacers or not have a set of evo x rims ready to put on just trying to do my research before anything. any help would be great thanks

rims have no tires. so hard to do so and get an accurate look or im i wrong ? lol

Evo X wheels are 18x8.5 +38. They should be fine in the front, but in the rear you will come damn close to hitting the strut/spring depending on what suspension setup you have. They will also poke a fair amount, so I hope you are planning for stretch tires (215/35 maybe), rolled/pulled fenders, and some camber.

Bolt them on to check inside clearance, then use a jack and a block of wood to load the suspension up by jacking up the wheel.

I'm seriously thinking about it because I really want to keep the Volks square offsets. Thinking 17x8.5 +30 with 215/40's (that I already have)... maybe 225/35 when the 215's are done and I can find a cheap single to test-fit.

thx im already running that size tire on the speed3 so i guess not a bad start. i have kyb schocks on the eibach springs thats it.

Yup then first thing to check is inside clearance. Put one side of the car on jack stand and bolt one wheel on front/rear, then load the suspension and check inside clearance.

on the speed 3 rims* let me be clear on that lol. and cool will do that in a bit once we are done working on the civic we just got back. made 525hp, hopefully runs 10s soon. street legal and full interior

some 18x8.5 rims friend has with tires testing them with tires to compare how evo rims will look with tires, and to see what ill need to make them work

got new 215 35 right now on my speed3 rims so gonna try those with spacers and a roll

Alright guys, after talking to Noah, I am going with 17x8.5 +30 all around with 215/40's without the link kit, then when I need new tires I will be going with 225's and the Link kit. Beast mode coming soon.

why not stay where you are and save for the link kit, wheels and tires all at once

Because I have a set of 215/40s with less than 10k miles sitting on the Volks right now and I want to have the wheels on the car for SF Wekfest and my shot at 3 years in a row in MOTM in February. It will take me a while to recoup from the custom 3-piece rebuild of the Volks to buy new tires and the link kit.

Yeah dude line is 2-3 hours long, but I have heard it might not be in SF in 2012 because of the size. I have heard mumblings of it being at Google or Moffett Field here on the peninsula. Going to be NUTS
