Switching to synthetic oil which one do u guys use?

On my next oil change I will be switching my car to Mobil 5w-30 with oem filter. Was wondering what kind of synthetic oil and filter are you guys using?

I've used Mobil1, Castrol, and Pennzoil. Mostly Mobil1 though.

Always the OEM filter. I get them real cheap through Mazda Motorsports that is the only reason.

WalMart (or maybe Pennzoil - I saw it at Wally-World) has a rebate on synthetic now. $5 on a five-quart jug.

As for the jugs, aren't most of them 4 quarts? be careful. We take 6 quarts with a filter change.

I recommend Rotella T, 5w40. full syn, of course.

even though I have had my 09 CX-7 for a year and have had 3 oil changes, I was really surprised that it took 5.7 liters of oil when i was reading my bill.

Pennzoil Platinum every 5000 miles with OEM filter, I get the jug at WalMart.

Used to run Mobil 1 on my previous car, didn't have any issues with that, but it did seem to make the engine temperature a little higher than running other synthetics. Not sure why that would be...

not so much because of the turbo but the pan probably holds more than the regular 3.

I think the capacity is the same. You need -30 for the turbo.

The jugs are five-quart. With my B3000 truck filter, it's about 6 1/2 quarts.

I prefer 5w40 on the turbo for the main reason that it's a little thicker, provides better protection, and is a little more anti-smoke than 10w30 or 5w30.

Hmmm. Since the 40 won't flow as well as the 30, the protection may not be as good.

I second ROYAL PURPLE....it's fantastic.!! expensive but great results from it.

Protection is fine, these engines get plenty hot enough for the oil to flow well
