The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

We were asked by Shinebox guys to do a how to video on an oil change for women. So, Lauri is going to change her own oil and filter @ Marc's house, so we can use his lift. We will be using Castrol Edge Titanium and WIX oil filter. Should be fun.....

cars came out of no where into a boom, a little longer than 20 years but we didn't have computers back then either

I was curious, don't really want to tear the whole thing apart just to check. It's under warranty so it's really audi's problem

Ohhhh... I didn't know it was an Audi. Well there's your problem. ;) Kidding. Tessa has a TT with the 1.8t and it would chirp after it started but I don't think at idle randomly. I don't know turbos so I can't really help.

Wes, once again, awesome deal. I want to check out your shop one of these days.

**** michigan and their roads, and the fact that its gonna be a wind chill in the 30's tomorrow... **** me...

um ok. i dont think toledo is really that far into ohio. and it is only suppose to be like that for a day or 2. then it is suppose to be nice starting sunday.

ugh I hate it when people buy my stuff on ebay and then don't pay/don't answer emails/close their profile. Now I have to wait another week for the item to sell

/end rant, back to work people

Oh, herro wat is dis?

I've been looking for an air compressor for probably about a year. Yesterday on Craigslist, we ran across this one, and drove out to check it out. Unfortunately the guy didn't have a plug wired onto it, so we couldn't see it run. His friend plugged the bare wires into a 110v plug and it stalled and tried to turn over. It just didn't have the power to do it since it's supposed to take 220v. It's also got a box on it for 480v 3 phase, but the electrics elude me mentally, so I've got not clue how it's wired up currently. It's a monster, though, 80 gallons, a 5hp twin cylinder, belt drive (ahh quiet!), and it's supposed to do 50cfms free air at max psi, so it's more than enough to run an entire shop. The guy said it'll run 4 DA's at once!

The best part is, in the pic with the compressor and trailer, that's not even 300$ total that was paid, and their worth is well above that. In fact, including the Yota that I towed the whole setup home with, it wasn't even 3k total. (cabpatch)

If the motor tags says 220/480 volt it a dual voltage motor (very common) but if the tag also say 3ph which means 3phase you will nee to buy a new motor. If the motor tags says 1 ph then it is single phase and you will just need a 220v line but it will need a lot of amperage.

The box on the front with the cover off is the one he indicated was the 480v box. There's another one behind it that he said was for the 220v. The power source where it's located is 220v, and I've run my welder off of it, which needs 20 amps and I was able to run it at full power.

Whatcha sellin'?

Kenwood KAC-8105D Amp + Kicker 8 AWG Kit

Flex Innovations grounding kit for Mazda 3 (should fit the speed3, hint hint)

Mazda 3 TWM short shifter & shift boot

vent pod (also fits the speed3)

single din metra kit (also fits the speed3)

and I need to post the HIDs I had on the 3, or if anyone knows where can i find a bulb adapter (for a 9006) to use them on the MSM??

My ex had that brand of snow tires on her Civic years ago. Freaking tank it was.

they do look quite aggressive to say the least! but 215's for snow tires are kinda wide for light weight proteges...i think these wheels would be awesome on someone's heavier Speed3 or definitely the awd of the Speed6 would amazing with these on!

^ wont fit a speed6... calipers/rotors are too big to fit 16's

and ive got 225-55 tires for winter, car is an absolute TANK in the snow too

If they were 6 lug, I'd consider them for the Yota. I'd like to see what it would take to get it stuck in 4wd with snow tires and a foot of ground clearance, lol

You'd be surprised how easily lifted trucks with huge tires get stuck in the snow!

I mean dense, 2-3 feet of snow, not a few inches in the driveway snow. lol
