I'm gonna do a timing belt/water pump/head gasket job in the future. Anyone wanna help? I'd be willing to drive anywhere to make it easier for people. I'll bring beer for whoever helps!!

Depending on when you do it I'll lend a hand.

Ok I gotta get the money for the parts so overtime here I come and then I'll post a date up. Also I'd love to get a few people that know the fs engine since I've never done anything this extensive on this engine.

I can help... but my schedule is a total clusterfuck 95% of the year. Depending on what's decided on where and when, I'll try to be there. God knows I've wrenched on mine more than I care to remember.

Thanks phen! And anyone know what parts I'll need? So far I need Head gasket, waterpump and timing belt kit, and arp headstuds

Forged rods were a joke. The FS is known for popping when boosted and if kept at higher rpm thru a turn, it will suffer oil starvation. I was being a smart ass.

I bet if you ask Evan, he'll volunteer to help.

I'll help but only if Phen isn't going to b**** about FS's the entire time... :P

Are you rebuilding the motor or just replacing the head gasket, TB and water pump? Is this a one day deal or are you taking your head someplace to make sure it's not warped and the car will be down a couple days? Any other mods/maintenance you are planning for the motor while it's being worked on? What time frame are you thinking for the work? Do you have a garage and tools? Not being a smartass, just trying to set up a plan. Ya know?

Don't worry, I'm probably not going to be available anyway.

And what do you care if I b**** about FS's Mr. KL swap? ;)

Lol ^^ but yeah I have a huge barn with just about every conceivable tool, just head gasket water pump and timing belt, ARP studs are iffy. Want to do it in one day if possible and just gonna flush the cooling system while I'm at it to get all the s*** out of it. I never let it overheat so I doubt the head is warped at all. What you thinkin Evan?

ARP headstuds are overkill unless you plan on boosting and they're expensive. We can probably bang it out in a day. I plan on swapping the Milly motor in October but I'm usually free every weekend peaches isn't over using our garage. Heh-heh. Do you have a weekend in mind?

Ok don't plan on boosting lol. And idk basically whenever get the parts. Gotta get funds and get ahold of marlon. Would an oem headgasket be ok, or should I look at something different?

OEM is fine. It's what they use when they build them... ;)

Nah, no need for overkill if it's going to be N/A. Don't forget a valve cover gasket too. And an intake manifold gasket. I got my parts from OnlineMazdaParts.com and RockAuto.com, I highly recommend both.

Phen, I thought of the perfect analogy for my love of the FS-DE. It's like an ex-girlfriend. I was with my FS for about 2.5 years. I took good care of her and only used the best things. Then it was time we saw other people. So I'm dating a KL now and she's moved on and is with Josh now. I know he will take good care of her and she will take care of him. (tear). But you and Wes HATE FS-DE's with a passion. Haha

I never changed my timing belt on my FS. Josh changed it when it was "between lovers" (before his swap). Hit him up. I was thinking about dragging him along since he's done one on an FS. I've only done it on my KL.
