The slammed guys are ******* idiots. That is all.
but why would you ever say that? cause some guy from NZ purpose built a rx-7 for drifting on a track with a body kit?
You do know all it takes is body parts to be inches off the ground to be considered slammed.
And the fact the RX-7 will never see a speedbump, pot hole or public road. But without that one example they would be able to say "you can too have stretched tires in motorsports!". It's funny to troll that thread.
But like Phen politely reminded me last night, it's not all about performance for the track to some people. I just have to remind myself of that every now and then. It's all gravy, where all still Mazda Family, even if those cats are the distant weirdo cousins.

here is my theory on all of this slammed/functional bulls***.... if you wanna be an ass and bash others that dont think the way you do, hey go for it, just dont get butthurt when people stop coming to events or meets cause of your elitist bulls***... frankly im getting fed up with alot of the attitudes in this thread that bash/ridicule/question the mental capacity of anyone that doesnt build a car for track duties... big ******* whoop, a guy wants to buy a car and go as low as possible, who cares, its his car and thats what makes him happy, its absolutely no different than you buying a car and modding it for track duties, thats what makes you happy...
that being said....
the more all of you bash slammed guys the more i want to slam the living s*** out of my car and see if anyone of you would bash/ridicule or question my mental capacity the way you do with the slammed guys on this forum
fact is ill never track my car cause
A) its not totally paid off and i dont have the scratch to replace it if the worst case scenario would happen
B) it was bought for the purpose of being a DD that gets good mileage
C) once its paid off id rather buy something specifically for the track with a better platform to start from than a fwd econobox

I would love to slam a protege but not quite they way they do it. My way would involve a welder and not near as much camber in the rear... There are alot of nice cars in that thread but I don't consider a purpose built race car or a car with a body kit as slammed and that's where my opinion differs from thiers.

Levi, did you read my post? Like I said, Phen reminded me of exactly what you just posted and I'm totally fine with people slamming their cars. But are you telling me they don't have an "elitist" attitude towards being slammed when they all say "It's a way of life, you wouldn't understand.". I just don't see the point of people bragging about breaking parts on their cars or bitching about speedbumps and pot holes because they are too low. If you're going to slam your car, then stop bitching about it being too low. It's like a cool kids club in there or something.

So don't be a hypocrite. You used to come over here to our garage and bash those cats with all of us. And now you want to be part of their club? That's cool, man. Just don't bash them one day then want to be with them the next.
This is the second time this week I've been labelled an "elitist". Because I'm tired of all the bulls*** people say. I'm going to speak my mind from now on and if that means I'm not welcome to meets, cook outs or whatever then I'm fine with that. s***, I don't go out anyway. Haha. I'll see you guys around at the track days and Mid-Ohio and say hello and go on my way with a smile, no hard feelings. It's all gravy.
Just be honest to yourself and to others. If you like one thing or another then stick to your guns. Don't change your point of view to accomedate who ever is standing next to you. I think everyone who has met me in person knows what I do and don't like. Because I speak my mind. But god forbid I say something about the slammed guys or how I don't like neon people get all mad.
And please, please, pleeeeease don't include the entire state of Ohio under my remark about the slammed RX-7. I'm an asshole and I'm okay with that. But don't bash the entire Ohio thread and it's members for something that I said. If you've got a problem with me, then let me know. Everyone is an adult here and we can all talk about things like adults. But I'm tired of all the drama and what I can/can't say anymore. Like "Team Ohio" is a bad word now. What the ****? Because I said something or did something now the whole club is a bunch of elitists or douchebags? Like I said, I don't mind being the loner, always have anyway.
But from now on I'm speaking my mind. If anyone has a problem with that, then simply tell me to get lost and I'll move on. And Levi, with all the help I've done for you on your car in the past I gotta tell ya, I can't help but feel you just hit me up when you need to wrench on your car. Phen has 1/2 of the garage and you're one of his best friends so I'm totally cool with you still coming over and using the garage because half of it is his and he's got his own tools and I borrow a lot of his. But cats that just hit me up when they need an oil change or a new part put on really kinda burnt me.
Anyway, I'll call ya this weekend and we can talk about stuff and straighten a lot of this out. Just too much drama for a bunch of car guys with the Mazda Family in their blood. I aint mad atcha.
With that note, hope everyone is off to a pleasant weekend.

I really wasn't bashing the slammed guys for thinking the way they do as far as the slammed craze is concerned. I may think that way, but I don't think I've ever come out and bashed their opinion. Everyone has their own opinion and whatever they want to do to their cars is their choice.
What I was mad about was the fact that they are complete ******* dicks in their threads to anyone that's not slammed or anything. It's like the mazdaspeedforum for anyone that tries to say anything. Dub is a ******* chode and his little minions remind me of stupid, non cute versions of the Despicable Me minions.
I'm not going to add fuel to the fire but I'm in no way elitist about anything. I have absolutely no idea where the **** you're coming from so if you have something to say then we can talk when you come up here next time.
