2005 Mazda 3i
Hey!!

Well I just got my 05 mazda3; I want to dress it up alittle. I'm thinking maybe changing the color of the mazda emblems, changing the wheels, HID's and quite possibly adding fogs.. Can someone give me some good ideas, and where to find them..

Thank You!!
Darla(huh)

Get a hold of the jeans, he has a really nice 3 and is a good guy, he can be a big help.

I can help you out too. As for the badges all are held on by 3m tape, you can remove them carefully with dental floss, with the exception of the front which is clipped in. The best way to repaint them is to soak them in bleach which will eat away the factory coating which doesnt hold paint well. Youll have to change the bleach often for a few days until all thats exposed is the plastic. After that you can use spray paint. A few coats of primer, then youre color choice and finish with a few coats of clear coat.

What color is your 3?

As for HIDs you can get them from ddmtuning.com cheap and I've never had an issue with them, they work great. I suggest 4300 for oem hid look, 5k for a white look and 6k for a hint of blue. Anything higher and you're light output wont be very good.

I can help you with wheel and tire sizes if you have a few wheels you're interested in.

Another good cheap visual mod is a stubby antenna from a cx-7. Looks a lot better.

Remove side molding trim would be a first for me. I dislike it and makes the car look cleaner. Even though I have an 07 which the body style is different.
Wheels...Id say try to find some used rx-8/shinkas for a nice look.

ehh id be cautious with removing the moldings on a car thats 7 years old. Thats why i never did mine

There was a alot of residue under mine, but I used a s*** load of goo be gone and it came right off.

Wow, Thank you! She is Sunlight Silver Metallic.

Yeah, I really want to change the color of the emblem asap. I'm thinking purple or a darker pink.

And I think im going to go for the 5k, I am not to fond of the blueish ones.

Wheels I am not sure yet, I going to start looking tonight, so once I find some good ones I'll send you the link, and let me know what you think..

And the antenna is a must, its so long!!!

You know what else I want to do. I have the 3i without the fogs but there is a space for them.. Is there any possibility I can install them? If so, does anyone know where.. I live in ny

Thank you, and I don't want to sound dumb but who is he, the jeans?

That is his screen name in on 24/7 he name is Levi. You can take off the molding with fishline or an old style blockbuster video card. You can use glue gone or Xenit to remove the residue. Xenit removes everything, bugs, road tar etc. good luck and enjoy the car!

oh, okay lol. And ok, I have goo gone. I will do this probably this weekend. I'll post some pics up. Thank you for your help!! :)

you can add the oem fogs, but from what i recall theyre pretty expensive. Might be able to find a used set somewhere though.

Helps alot if you do it on a hot day too. If you're taking the mazda emblem off you might as well consider making it an evil m. Just type that into google images and you should get some nice ideas, I'm going to take mine off soon and cut it to make it an evil m. I think it looks better, thats just me though

Be warned you could end up with a dark line where the molding was on the car, I did. You may end up with the same thing after removing emblems. Since the paint under them have never seen the light of day it is not faded, the rest of the paint is.

Yeah, I figured it would be expensive... I know there is a grille there, and I'm wondering if it is all one piece, or if it is in three different sections.. because if it is one piece, then the middle area below my license plate will be empty..

Damn, that's what I'm worried about..
