JosueP5's '03 Protege5 Build Thread.

What I did was just use quiksteel and put on a thick layer of it on the back of the HID bulb until it was the exact right thickness. Really easy to do and it holds the bulb in place perfectly.

Never heard of this stuff? Where can I find it?

If you have patience could you simply bend the metal wire clip a bit more to angle it to sit flush against the bulb housing?

I wouldn't chance messing with that clip, if it's as fra-gi-le as everyone says.

I emailed VVME, and this is the response I got...

Glad to service for you again.

We sell 2 of H7 adapters about $18 including thes shipping to USA.

But we are not sure whether we have store for them.

Please wait once we get the reply from our warehouse partner we will tell you at the first time.

If you have any quesions pls contact us any time you like.

Best wishes

I ******* hate the "almost speaking/typing correct English" from these damn foreign companies. Makes me feel like these people don't know what the hell is going on. Hopefully they do though, and I can get these adapters ASAP. If I don't hear from them by the weekend, I'll just make something work...

You can get it at any auto parts store. It's stuff used to fill in holes in exhaust and the stuff people use to fill in the holes on the intake manis after they take the VTCS out. Think of it like playdoh that hardens into basically a metal.

(cough) shoulda bought a DDM kit like I told ya. (cough) ;)

Email last night....

Dear my friend,

please confirm the picture about H7 adapters whether it is you need.

But so sorry to tell you that we store out of them maybe you need to wait a long time to get them.
By the way our superviser told me that I offer you the price last time is not enough, so the price including the shipping to USA is $20 for one pair of them.

If you agree with the price please let us know then once we have store we will notify you at the first time.

Best regards

These "adapters" didn't look like they'd work for this issue, so I'm just going to rig something up this weekend.

I'll probably just modify the stock adapters to work, then buy new ones when I get a chance, to have them just in case I need to go back to stock.

Sounds like a good project for Saturday, after I get done with larry's car!

Oh ya! Work on my car, go to junk yard, work on your car, Evan buys lunch! LOL!

And I figured out a solution to the HID bulb problem! Just clipped a wire loom over the socket, and it worked like a charm! They're actually tighter than stock bulbs.

Larry and I got them installed today after I buffed his headlights and a trip to Cleveland East Pull A Part. Taking it out tonight to test them out and see if they need adjusted. :)

Glad to be home! Since Evan was not able to make it we had no lunch. Haha! jk I think most of us know why you couldn't make it. Jenny is real happy with the way the headlights turned out, molding delete not so much. Thanks a bunch Josh, nice job.
