The Moderately Low (Not Slammed) and Functional Thread

i think the stiffest rear bar set-up for the protege would be the MSP with clunk-fix brackets.

I had the AWR 21.5mm adjustable on mine with the mounting points at the stiffest location. It was effing insane.

You're probably right. I should build another P5 and see if I can do it better!

LOL @ this guy asking for stickers who just show up to autox/track events and not participate.

I had the AWR rear sway bar...i would not reccomend it.

No matter how much I tightened or re adjusted that dam thing, I could not get the clunk to go away. It was the noisiest thing ive ever done to my car, I hated it.

Go to the hardware store and get some clamshell locking collars and clamp one on the bar on both sides of the swaybar bushings to keep it centered...

Normally it's the endlinks that make the noise. Mine was silent. Once you think you have the endlinks tightned up, keep going. I had the old design endlinks, which are the ones that everyone said were impossible to keep quiet. Hell, Evan's Progress bar makes more noise than my AWR did (before I took it off the first time)

Forgive my ignorance, but wouldn't that pic not be an ideal setup? Tri-pod would mean less tire contact thus less grip, right?

And yeah, my Progress bar clunks like crazy.

if i remember correctly, he was running without a front swaybar, too.

Inside rear tires do very little in a turn (unless you need to put power down through them), but that pic looks to me like a very stiff rear sway, and a fairly soft front.. so "not ideal" looks to be a fairly accurate assessment.

Thank ya, I think the mirror covers and painted grille trim helped a lot.
