R.I.P. #53 MSP (Totaled)

Well I'm the original owner on this msp. So sad to see it like this Did a lot of work to it. Well I gave this car to my wife about 3 yrs ago. Long story short the accident happened like 1 minute from our house it involved 3 cars & all 3 were totaled. Thank God she just needed some stitches on her lower left knee. The car did a great job of protecting her because most of the impact was on the drivers side.

Glad your wife is okay. Sorry about the car. MSP's do quite well in serious accidents. I've seen more than a few of these threads of the years and almost always the driver walks away.

Where is the tranny pic taken (POV)?

Do you have a pic of the leg area, did it collapse at all? Mazda could boast safety with this one (the cage stays in tact).

Like I said before thanks for all the great support. My family & I are still amazed that she walked away from this. When I went to see the car I myself was like WoW!!! There was nothing in front as you can see in the pics. I asked the tow truck driver what did he take off the car to tow it. His reply was nothing! He picked it up just like that. I found the hood on the side of the road when I was driving home. It's in my garage messed up but all there.

From what I was told she was going about 35-40 mph the person in front of her slammed on his brakes to avoid a object in the road. My wife then slammed on her brakes. Her car drifted into oncoming traffic hitting a car head on going about the same speed that she was going. The msp still ended up hitting the car in front as well. Totaling all 3 cars. The person that she hit head on had to be cut out of there car. We were told everyone was doing ok.

The pic was taken from the top of the tranny. Crazy thing is last saturday I replaced the complete shift linkage that cost about $300 from mazda because the mount under the shifter broke on it. I also changed the tranny fluid as well as the engine oil. It was driving so good the gears were like butter.

The leg area did collapse that's why she needed stitches on her lower knee.

I don't know how this broke either I also had a wide clip on mirror on top of that one. It was shattered like the windshield.

The steering wheel is bent, the complete steering column is broken and the key does not come out of the ignition.

The speaker box in the truck was upside down and my speaker was busted.

Now it makes sense why the MSP is so smashed and buckled. For sure the most important thing is that everyone involved is ok.
