Protege03ak46's Build Thread

Gotcha, they'll be more than just mazda's there. Its a nw-built official meet as well. Should be a good meet as long as the weather cooperates.

I know, I am a member there also, plus nwmotiv and mazdasnw........ Needless to say I am a NW Car forum ***** ;)

New brakes installed

s**** borderline scary, locks up incredibly fast. Could be due to the recent influx in rain or just the bad tires I have. I think its mostly due to the tires. Eventually I want 235/40's on my current wheels. I like grip and aggressive fitment, rubbing never hurt anyone.

rubbing has hurt people haha... if it gets too severe it could wear down the tire too much and put a weak spot in it at least and a blow out could become more likely.

but what pads did you go with?

Do you have any clue how long it take's to do that?

I have mx6 metalmaster pads.

how long it takes to happen depends on the pressure of what its rubbing against..... if its feathering it its not that big of a deal, but if there is some decent pressure, it will happen a lot quicker...

With my kind of roll/pull its gonna ware kinda fast but the tires will last me more than a year, I can guarantee that. Gonna end up having to pull it even farther which is pretty easy on the protege.

I wouldn't want dirt and pebbles on my new rotors. I'm pretty sure he cleaned them though.

yo have you tried adjusting that alan bolt on the bottom of the calipers(I think thats where its at), you should be able to adjust how hard the brakes squeeze, in relation to how far you push the pedal down. would make it a bit softer for more control.
