Switching AEM to SURE

I am pretty sure I am going to make a switch to SURE Short Ram. Just need something new. Let me know what you guys think about the SURE. So I'll be posting up the AEM soon. Don't be afraid to PM me!

From what I've read in other threads and forums nothing but good reviews. Quality seems to be on par with cobbs SRI.

I do not have any of the SURE lineup....but if I were to purchase anything out on the market today, SURE products would be at the top of my list! From now on, anything I buy that is part of SURE's lineup will be on my car. I too have been thinking of switching to their intake. It looks good! Anyone want one of the first CorkSport intakes ever to be produced? LOL

That's it, going home to remove the AEM cai and PG TIP. Post them in the market. When they sell, I'm going to purchase the SURE SRI and SURE Sidewinder! Thanks all for the input!

? ? ? ?

Maybe spend your money on increasing your power? The AEM/MSCAI CAIs are extremely good intakes. And no, I'm not interesting in buying yours as I already have the MSCAI verson. Not knocking SURE (I have their RMM), as I'm SURE (pardon the pun) that it is well made. But if you already have a good one, swapping is sort of like girls changing hair color, isn't it?

I disagree. That's what modding is. Testing out and getting what YOU like on your car. SRI's seem to have quicker response, and less chance of water soaking the filter. It's all IMO tho.

I'll tell you the main reason I would switch--aesthetics. While not typically high on my priority list, my blue/silver Corksport SRI sure does clash with the whole black/red route I am going...But if at some point I am able to make the switch without taking a huge loss, I would do so in a heartbeat! Hope that makes some sense...

Had an SRI and liked it. Very much enjoying my CAI currently. Admittedly the difference is almost negligible, with the exception the CAI feels smoother in throttle transitions. I bet once you put the SURE SRI on the car, you'll find very little difference, if any in performance except when it's hot outside. I think you'll find in hot weather the car is a bit sluggish off the line with the SRI compared to the AEM CAI but my comments in that regard are kicking a dead horse. A really, really, dead horse with a big hole in the side of it full of shoes from all the other forum members who have come before me, debating CAI VS SRI.

New parts are fun though. Enjoy your changes even if they're marginally better, if at all.

LOL, isn't the SURE intake a CP-E knock off? What would be the point unless a color change is in order?

thats a funny joke. If its remotely close to anything, it looks a lil more like the cobb sri. The SURE sri has optimized the MAF housing where the other companys had been lacking. I suppose you could say that the CP-e TMIC is an SU knockoff i guess too. Considering S.U. had them first and CP-e had no desire to create one. But blam, now theyve got one and its an identical match, minus the logo branding....thats the lolz

I'm on the pre-order list, through SU, for the new SURE TMIC. I looked at the Sure Motorsports site and there is nothing posted there for a TMIC. I was told 30 days before I receive it. Does anyone have any photos, specs, anything on the SURE TMIC? I went with SURE purely on SU recommendation, which is solid, but was hoping someone here would have some insight.

Give me a day or so. Ill have some specs, info etc for you. Ill even post it in this thread for reference :)

Out of curiosity, are you sponsored in any way by SU?

Yes I am. I'm also local to the shop.

But a "sponsership" has nothing to do with the tmics looking similar. Or the fact that the maf on the intakes are not the same. But I suppose that is the same defense a lawyer would take. Discredit the defendant by association, nullifying his statements

Now answer my question. Your sig says you have a cp-e tmic, is it pretty much identical to the SU tmic that was available a while ago.
