What have you done to your P5 today?

Started a MUCH better audio build than what I already have. Mediocre audio equipment but I'm ok with the sound, besides, I can't afford anything else right now

2 Energy ENC10 subs (got them for like $40 each when I worked at an electronics store), sony 4 channel amp I got for $60, and a Power Acoustik Gothic series OVN-2200D or something like that. Ugliest amp on the planet, but its going under the passenger seat. Anyways, today I pretty much just picked up the MDF and cut the floor. Sucks though, the plastic in the car is more brittle due to the cold so I broke a piece on the side panel with the jack inside.

Finished another set of retros for a localish Protege5 (Peter5), start to finish took 2 hours including the baking of the lights and aligning them, everything for the retro was bought through The retrofit source. So for under $200 and a few hours of work everyone could have great lights.

over the past 2 days the p5 has been totally demodded.

subs, amps, components, HIDs, rear wiper, head unit, all removed and replaced with stock.

only 1 more day with her.

funny thing... she knew she was going away. at the dealership, i started her up, and noticed my drivers side HID wasnt lit. hmmm... funny. then that night, on my way to work, noticed i was going to barely make the light (the dont walk sign started flashing) so i gave it more gas and hit the brakes kinda hard and just made it through yellow. after the turn, my brake light was on. it was cold that night, and with taking the turn under hard braking, the car can sense low brake pressure. thus the light. i know Phen has experienced it before.

when taking out the HIDs, i checked and the bulb is ok (it would light when swapped) so it must be the ballast that went out. Gonna email protephile in a few and see if i can get a new one.

put my stock lights, fogs, grille, intake, and shift knob back on. i'm leaving the shifter springs and sub in when i sell. now im going to wash it and vacuum it then takes some pics and get an add up on kijiji and hopefully it isnt to long till it sells. then im getting a wrx wagon! (gotta stick with the wagons, (yippy))

Good choice with Injen and TWM. Not too sure with PG and Ken though. But hopefully it will all work out.

Crap, now you tell me. Haha. No problems so far with Ken, email response was fast, was out of the blue filter cover I wanted, so he gave me a heads up and is swapping in a black one.

(mswerd) I'm not trying to start PG bashing but I had one horrid experience with them and I refuse to EVER deal with them again.. Its unfortunate.

Changed the oil, replace the wiper blades, and replaced the door ajar switch on the passenger side.. Also, thanks aMaff for the tires.. you've saved me twice from spending the money on new ones (evil)

Just solved CEL PO171 lean condition on Daughters P5 . It was the Cracked Intake Hose Issue . Just bought a code reader today (It was about Time )
And thanks to this Forum I was confident that I could solve it ..And it was too EZ .
Time for Me to give Her LIL Car a oil change & check it over as well .
She goes for her Drivers Test on Weds (for the 2nd Time )
I hope She gets it this time .....
The P5 I got her last month is Just Perfect for Her ...(++She just loves It & Me "The Best Daddy Ever ")

I picked up some 17" Mazda 3 Rims 4 it on Kijji last month .It has winters on the factory 16" now . so just have to get new rubber for the 17", What size ??
205/50/16 is stock size so I was thinkin 215/45or40/17" they are only 6.5"x17"rims os not sure about the 215s???might be a stretch for the 6.5" rims ??
Should be a great lil car 4 her .. Just crawled under in looks ok for 165km ...
The horn is weak and only make a Tink tink ...SO Daughter found it funny & Named the car TINKERBELL. so of cource it has Tinkerbell floormats & airfreshner ...LOL I have been driving it all overtown with Tinkerbell hangin in the Mirror ....She really need to get her licence ......
