It looks just like my Fidanza...but has a lot fewer bolts holding on the friction surface.

Rafi is the owner of RR-Racing, and former owner of one of the coolest Probes I have ever seen..super super rare color.

Does Rafi own the light blue PGT on their site? I mean, he replied to all my emails when I was first contacted him super fast and was really nice and his prices are rock bottom, so I'm not complaining too much. heh-heh. But I asked him which flywheel comes with his clutch packages and he told me they were Clutchmasters. So I would like to mate the flywheel/clutch brands mostly because I'm anal.

I did some light research on the Aasco company last night and found they are fairly common. Here's a link with them listed right above the Clutchmasters flywheels for about the same price, so it's not like I'm getting "ripped off". I've just never heard of Aasco before and would like the item that I paid for, or at least notify me if there is a substitution in the order. And his packing was pretty bad. It was just a USPS flat-rate box with two pieces of wrapping paper around the flywheel. It doesn't look damaged but come on now. I packaged and shipped a bag of M&M's better than that...

However I did receive my Clutchmasters clutch today. It's sexy. I'll post a pic tonight because pictures are fun. And it came with 3 stickers for my toolbox! (I'm a ricer at heart when it comes to vinyl). Speaking of stickers, I found a cat who will make magnetic numbers for my few track days for $18 shipped for 4 numbers. That's a freaking great deal.

edit- I'll weigh the stock flywheel and lightweight flywheel tonight, Wes. It's lightweight, but it's still a good chunk of billet aluminium so it's not really as light as I was expecting when the postman handed it to me. I thought it was a book I ordered... heh-heh

Yup...well he used to. Now a guy named Mike Perry owns it, and is using the shell for the Salt Flats car he is building.

The color on the car was a special order only color and only available in '97.You had to specifically order that color as Ford did not make any in that color, like they did the other colors. Hands down my favorite color.

Well that's a shame that that super rare colour is going to be turned into a salt falts car... All that salt on the paint makes me cringe just thinking about it... But at least it's not rusting away in a junk yard.

It is..I agree. I wanted to buy the shell from Mike, but no such luck..

On the other hand, it is kind of cool. Taking a super super rare car, and making something truly unique with it..something that no other Probe will be like.

Anyway, back on topic..Did you not get the Fidanza because it didn't come with the kit? Just curious..

As far as topic, this thread is mine so it can go as far off topic as you guys want. I'll real it back in when necessary. ;)

I was planning on the Fidanza since everyone ones them and they get great reviews. When I was shopping for clutch kits and flywheel combos, Rafi's prices just couldn't be beat so that's why I went with RR-Racing. I paid $626 shipped for the clutch, flywheel and clutch line. Before I placed my order I asked him which flywheel comes with his packages since they aren't really clearly listed and he said they were Clutchmasters. I'm sure the Aasco flywheel is a quality piece though.

I was more talking about myself..;)

Oh ok. I figured this much, just was curious. I love my Fidanza, but I bet the extra pound or two will be largely unnoticeable.

You have a stock flywheel? I thought the one on your motor was the auto flywheel, or did you get another one?

Funny there is one of those in the probe grave yard over here. They got over a dozen in a row. The engine is ***** and the dash and everything was mint about 6 months ago then they pulled it and set it outside the car and let it go to s***. pulled one of the doors and the car looks like s***. Plus there prices at the yard was $300 for a hatch with no wing or wiper. WTF?

The 5-speed tranny came with the clutch and flywheel. But there's no way I was going to reuse them. haha

Wes, no no no. I don't want my side of the garage to turn into a parts collection too. haha

Well I put the Aasco flywheel on the scale after work. The scale won't zero out so it's +1.5lbs. So the flywheel is about 12lbs. I still haven't heard anything back from Rafi, but I dont' expect an imediate reply. Worse case scenario, I'll just use the Aasco Motorsports flywheel. :)

And the bad news is my housemates compressor "popped". It constantly runs and only holds 40psi so I'm researching a replacement. She was a good working girl. Craftsman 20gallon that Phen had for 5 years. Timing sucks but I should buy my own compressor anyway. Crafstman Club is having a sale next week. It just pushes back the LSD purchase another 2 weeks (paydays are every other week.)

I'm really bad with money and live paycheck to paycheck and don't have much in my savings account. But then again, I don't have any debt. No credit cards or car payments is a good thing. :)

Speaking of LSD's... Jon and JK, you guys have a lot of experience with PGT and the KLDE. Would you reccomend I install an LSD for my KL? I'm still kinda on the fence about one. One day it's like "I should do it right. It might be overkill for 160whp but it certainly woudn't hurt." then the next day it's "Man, $650+install is a lot of bloody money. I could use that towards getting the swap in earlier and buying some dedicated track wheels for my Nitto NT-01's...".

Don't give up on the compressor yet. I'm going to look up info on it today at work.

Compressor's problem is a $16 that has been ordered just now. Back to saving for your other parts.
