well i know i been MIA lately. life, ya know...

took of my PC'd wheels off, threw on some stocker loaners.
gonna MAYBE drop off the wheels this week for repair if i still have money after December bills.
been waiting to do this repair for weeks on end due to lack of motivation, time, money. the usual.

good news is my 2011 mod month being postponed to Febuary allows me to budget better.
TIP, weighted shift knob, exhaust hangers first thing febuary. Tires, coilovers, wheels sometime mid 2011.

Check engine turned off today, but could actually feel it missing at random times. Ordering some new plugs today. Gotta get that fixed. Going to actually wash it today as well, since there is no sight of precip for awhile. Not to bad here Batou, how about yourself?

Just dropped 40 bucks on a freakin turbo to downpipe gasket.

Ever since winter set in I've notice exhaust smell when i put the defrost on. Rubbed my finger around the inside of the heat shield on the turbo, and it came out all covered in black stuff. Exhaust soot i guess you call it. So yay for me. I get to take all that crap off in the dead of winter just to replace an overpriced gasket.

So if your doin a dp swap. Do your self a favor and just change the damn gasket while everything's off.

I didn't know this. But it explains the smell when I use the defrost: exhaust/oil smell, slight and not strong.

DDM lights are great. I am currently waiting for my tax check to come back so I can drop some cash on a set of coilovers for the car. In the mean time I will be taking the car back to the dealership to hopefully get a new turbo. They told me the last time I went in that there is an update on the TSB about the smoking turbos.

12:45pm... still no call... this is the part where i just enjoy waiting to see how long the car will sit there before they realize i have not come on my own time to see if it's ready yet

i did sneak down last night to confirm it was locked, started it up to check the mileage and fuel... they put very few if any KM on it this time... i left them no gas to use, BUT this time they didnt even reset the ECU, unless the tech made note of what stations were preset on the sat radio... which he has never done before... so i'm sticking to the didnt reset it

i missed ur problem post, what was the code? misfiring? could be plugs, my stockers changed last month to some nice iridiums. when i pulled the old ones, they had been OVERtorqued, and were completely fouled. bleck, sometimes just cant trust some mechanics >_<" im just lucky the threads were still intact.

Im not too bad myself, hope the plugs fix yer problem meng!

oye all this talk of new DDM HIDs, i was considering new bulbs. In the last few crazy storms, output seemed dismal!! our stockers are what... 4300k 35w ?? seems to just dissappear. Yall think higher temp will help? or should i just go with a whole new ballast setup, stock ballasts im assuming cant handle 55w HID bulb, as it would just push 35w to a 55w output bulb...? (lol i know headlight talk, teehee... ill get back to MOD talk when i order them new parts. )

Going to another bulb type is counter productive. If you go with a different color temp, you'll cut down your light output, which isn't going to help. Without a minor overhaul of the system, which I'm not that familiar with, you're not going to be able to run 55w. Unfortunately, the stock lenses aren't all that great, and they diffuse the light too much.

I'd say upgrade the fogs to match the low beams and enjoy that for now. It's probably your simplest (and cheapest) upgrade right now.

aye, i was thinkin bout the fogs... i kinda figured itd be useless to go with a higher wattage bulb for low beams...
i always new our proj lenses were cruddy, was hoping 2 cents of people who did do change out the hids if it helpd much. ddms arent expensive so thats no worry.

i may do both.
future-wise, i wanna save up a bit for the lense conversion out there, i believe it uses the Acura TL lenses or some such.

got a call from the service manager this afternoon... they got aproval to replace the actuator for the intake runner... parts should be here and be fixed by monday..

BUT he wants me to come pick it up and take it home for the weekend so that they dont have to move it around this weekend because we're expecting some snow
