NEMOC Random BS Thread

I used both Blue Magic headlight cleaner and the meguiars setup with the drill attachment.

Gotcha

i wish i could pull 40mpg! my p5 hits just around 30-31 in the summer on the highway

Well P5 have different ECU .... make sure you keep up with tune ups

19mpg ...you jealous? :)

Nope , lol , down the road I might get even less then that

i get roughly 26 combined driving on the turbo'd p5 with 150k...i can get 28-29 maybe even 30 on strict highway cruise (LRP a few yrs back)

Yeah i get around 40mpg on hw cruise , combine would be somewhere 26 too since turbo spools up too soon

Ah Bruce that sucks, sorry to hear that!

Anyone has an air compressor and an air hammer/chisel that I could borrow? (I have the bits) I need to get a rear hub out of the back of a Toyota Corolla, rear bearing is bad, the whole thing comes out, but it's seized on inside the knuckle. Would've been a 10 minute job. Been banging it with a 4-lb sledgehammer, no give. Thinking air hammer can do the trick. Any other suggestions?

Yep, I do. Wait... s***. Nevermind.

I've used generous amounts of heat from a MAP gas torch, follwed by rapid cooling courtesy of a product called Freeze Off that should be found at many major auto parts stores. Couple that with some soaking of PB Blaster, and you should be good to go. I use my air chisel for a lot of things tho, and it's helped on just about every one.

F'k, the left rear caliper on the P5 just seized up, just as I pulled in to work. Pulled the e-Brake to go around the turn and BAM that s*** is seized.

Gonna have to do an "in-the-parking-lot" repair job. **** me. Between the Corolla with the hub assembly I can't get out in my garage and now the P5, and all the Audi s*** I've been doing, I don't want to do any more car repair jobs.

so oleg, you did this twice? ;) sorry many...time for a new p5! turbo'd auto in sunlight silver? only 147k??? ;)

I thought you have been enjoying it with all the posts lately. If I lived closer I'd be there to help bro. Sorry :(

The p5 unseized at lunchtime, so I was able to drive it back to my house without incident. So that will be a garage repair job.

Now to finish up those rear brakes. Anyone ever work drum brakes? I need to take shoes, springs apart, remove the backing plate, press/bang the hub out and put it all back together.
