So I've had my car for exactly one year and I have enjoyed it very much. I guess I am never happy enough with the cars I have owned. So, I am always looking for good deals on other options and recently I came upon a nice 335I BMW sedan with 31k for 24800. What do you guys think? I love my Mazda but I am starting to get tired of shifting all the time because the gears on it are so close. How much should i expect to be getting in trade in. My car is in perfect condition 07 36800miles not the Grand Touring package. The bmw is also at the same dealer I bought my car at so maybe they will hook me up a bit.

The sedan 335 in sedan form is not my cup o tea, but if you're trying to retain the ability for passengers then id say do it

Do it! as much as I like the speed6, Just make sure you look into how much it cost to own a BMW somthing breaks and your paying 5x for a BMW part.

While the E90 is a good-lookin' car (and I'm more of sedan guy in the first place), I think the E92 looks better. The proportions of this generation of 3-Series looks better in coupe form. God willing, a black E92 will be my next vehicle.

I would do it if it were the 6spd manual. Hell, I would be on the fence even if it were an auto.

Info Note...

The BMW 335i's are very sick cars, classy, with actual room in the back for a coupe, but it does have fuel/gas leak problems from it's twin turbo engine. My friend has one and BMW has offered him a fix for it or complete buy back from him. IDK, just keep researching them, their twin turbo set-ups are new and may continue to have problems. Keep an eye out, but an overall amazing car, quick too

I like the 335is a lot, it looks great, is really fast, and is probably quite comfortable... for 2. I'm not a fan of having only 2 doors, and unfortunately many cool cars don't have a sedan version, or if they do it's ugly (G35 and new Altima). I think if we had a second car, I'd love to have a fast, great looking 335is though.

^^^ummm....they do have 335 in sedan form. Even m3 in sedan

This.

E90 = 5th gen sedan
E91 = 5th gen touring (wagon)
E92 = 5th gen coupe
E93 = 5th gen convertible

So far as I know, this is the first generation of 3-Series that had different chassis codes for different body styles.

Well I went and drove the 335 sedan, I liked it but I didn't love it. The reason I want to get another sedan is because I could use an automatic since my girl has been driving my ms6 and it would be more convenient for her. I like the coupe version but I have a little 8 month old daughter and getting her in and out was not to easy having a coupe before. So the verdict is I am not going to trade my car in, especially when they offered me 14500 for mine.

I have two friends with 335i's, one is a mostly stock sedan, the other a nicely modified coupe. Neither have had any fuel/gas leak problems.

DUUURRRRR... I guess I didn't know the turbo was available in sedan form. Either that or they just didn't look as mean as the coupe. And I just assumed the M3 was coupe only! My bad.

Ooohhhhh, I think it was the 335is I was thinking about that is coupe only. +20hp on the other models, and I assume some aero and other differences. Sure is pretty.

Could be right about the "is" thing. I don't know bimmers well enough. I used to think that when it said "318" it meant the 3 series with a 1.8L engine, and so on with other numbers. I've since realized that's no longer the case

But out of all the newer bimmers and higher power there are still only 2 id like to have. Those are the 333hp M coupe (based on the z3 look) and the m5 that had the 394hp V8 around 2000-2003 I think

There is only the 335i or 335ix (AWD) bagding on the E9x models, regardless if it is a coupe, convertible or sedan. The ZHP (M Sport package) 335's only get some exterior bits, interior accents, increased top speed and different rims..

It is still the case that the first # indicated type of car, and the last 2 #'s indicate engine displacement.

128i=2.8 liter
335i=3.5 liter
550i=5.0 liter
760Li=6.0 liter

This is almost completely incorrect.

128i = 3.0
335i = 3.0
550i = 4.4

The 760 does have a 6.0L v12 though.

^^^ the 335 is a 3.0 liter twin turbo inline 6, the 328 is a 3.0 liter inline 6.

They are not all twin turbo now. The new 335i, 335i, etc. Have the N52 engine, single turbo. The N54 remains in the 335is

Also the BMW coupe with the S54, 2001-2002 only had 315hp. Due to exhaust path restrictions on that platform.

To the OP's question. I would go for it. However be aware of the HPFP. Its not a matter of if it is going to go, it's a matter of when. But BMW did extend the warranty on the pump.

Fack!!! (gah) I've really fallen off of the horse on my BMW knowledge. I guess I should stick to E46's and before, lol.
