Did anyone else's insurance raise when they added the MSP to their policy? Right now I pay $83/month through USAA for pretty decent insurance to cover my '98 Civic. I got a quote for the MSP and dropped the Civic and it's an extra $43 a month. What is that about? I did a quote through state farm and it's $183 a month for basic.
My record is fairly clean, too! I realize it's a "sports" car..but damn

I would be curious to know what a new civic SI costs to insure. If they base it on HP and whatever else then theoretically the SI would cost more.

because a 98 single cam civic is not an 03 turbo sport compact. if its worth more u pay more. i pay 170 to insure a 93 civic, a 95 civic, and my speed protege. me and my gf are insured on both

mine went from 92 bucks a month to 103 when i switched from a protege5 to an MSP, my insurance agent said it has to do with the diver more then the car but it doesnt sount like that for you

I pay 80something for the lowest coverage I can get.... Idk the 100% what they allowed me To go down to. But I tryed to make my insurance go to gerage, but my bank said no!!! They wouldent lower it at all, but it's lowered cause my insurance company talkedto them (alstate talked to navy federal).... I just pay not really look haha

lol, I pay like $70/month for the MSP, and like $80/month for the Speed6, with full coverage, uninsured, roadside, rental reimbursement, $250 deductibles, and an extra $5k in coverage for the parts on the MSP. But I'm an old man, lol.

I pay like 200 a month for my house, and full coverage on my 99 m3, msp, and my house. The bmw is actually the most expensive coverage out of the three, its like 90 a month.

Thad.

X2 ^^^^^^ Knox Joe LOL. The older you are the more responsible insurance company sees you. Helps if your married and have kids too I guess.

Dang everyone, I know I wont pay as much as you all will. It has to do with several variables and one is your age. Once you hit 25 your rate will lower.

I used to be on my moms policy (still under my name though since the vehicle was registered to me) and payed about 150 a month, when i switched over to my own it went down to the 92 a month with my protege5. im 19.

205 with 5 cars and house is high??

also have to remember that location has a lot to do with this also. AND if the state is no-fault or not. i went from my moms policy with no speeding tickets at $120/mon in florida to maryland on my own policy down to $112/mon with WAY lower deductibles and them finding my speeding ticket lol. this is mainly because florida is a no-fault state and maryland is not (as far as i have known).

That must be what it is. I too live in FL.

I pay $153 a month for full coverage on the MSP and the wife's Escape and our renter's policy.

I was like, "Are you sure? It's a Mazdaspeed... With a turbo..."
The agent was like, "...Yah, but it's an MSP"

My insurance for my MSP is exactly the same as it was for my 02 Protege5, around $83/month.
