Mazda RX8 checking in!

Well I have been following around this forum for awhile and I figured its time to post! I am also on the RX8club but for some reason I couldn't use my other forum name to register.

My car is setup for some track time/show. I am waiting on my new wheels before she hits the corners.

Here are some photos of my car with my new bumper and my old setup with the front lip. A lot of these photos weren't taken by me...these are some of my collection of local photographers/friends.

Very nice 8. I have always loved the 8. I have a couple questions for ya if you dont mind. I have been going back and forth about getting an 8 but then back off. I understand they are a tedious car to maintain and look after. How is your MPG? I see all the time people getting about 15 MPG. I also know about the 100K warranty on the motors as well. Have you had the opportunity to use this warranty and if so any complications with Mazda about this? I have always loved the body shape of the 8 since it came out and am really considering getting one for spirited driving. I have my MSP I am rebuilding as my DD but will eventually sell my other car down the road to make room for a newer car, maybe like the 8. I am on RX8club as well but haven't been on there for a while.

I fear the worst if I get the 8. I told the wife I would consider getting one as long as she doesn't take it as her daily LOL. She always tells me, its the Mazda that hugs you.....

Anyways love your 8. Specially love the moving shots, favorite is the third to the bottom. Wish the picture would have been less blurry.

Very common misconception. All they need is a little extra oil once and awhile and nothing else differs from any other car. I add oil once every 2-3 weeks or so. That's it. Over 3 years of ownership and I love it!

Thanks for the compliments. In terms with taking care of the car...nothing out of the ordinary besides just adding oil every now and then. I have replaced the ignition coils with an upgraded one by BHR since the oem coils were dead with new spark plugs. I haven't got my engine replaced and I hope I don't have to since I am at 46k. My gas mileage isn't horrible in my opinion either because I do drive somewhat spirited. There will be times when I get around 16mpg or 18mpg. It is still better than my truck haha.

I think you will enjoy the 8 as a spirited driving car. The car handles great in the corners and can hold its own on the track. I personally think this is a drivers car when it comes down to competition.
