Someone jacked my rear emblem

I suppose it was my fault, because I didn't have any adhesive on it. But when I went out this morning to my car, my rear "Flying M" emblem that I had painted black was gone.

So the point of this thread is, what does Mazda use to affix the emblems? I'm going to have to buy one anyway, so I might as well make sure that sucker is snug. I had tried double sided tape but couldn't get the emblem flush with the body; a couple people here said they just stuck it back on there and it held so that's what I did.

I used 3M double sided. Applied correctly it should work for you.

3m makes an emblem adhesive in a tube. basically liquid foam tape. works like a dream

The double-sided tape that comes with the emblem is thinner than the 3M double-sided tape that you purchase. When I painted mine black, I put new 3M tape on it only to find out that the emblem stuck further. I took the tape off and just used the two pins to mount since it fit more flush.

I've looked at all of the auto parts stores and none of them sell the thin kind that comes with the emblem if you were to purchase it new.

3m sells there double sided sticky tape in different thickness's. if you buy the correct thickness, its not a problem.

when you reapplied the emblem, how did you do it? I've taken mine off a few times and before you reapply it, you have to heat it up again with a hair dryer/heat gun. The glue gets more "sticky" when it's warm, so if you just put it back on, the glue didn't adhere properly most likely.
