Has anyone found a space saver style sub/sub box for the 6/MS6 yet?
Either one similar to the MSP sub/amp rack (or the P5 version I came up with a few years ago using the same MSP brackets & mounting points..down firing)

...or the P5 version with sits in the side of the P5 trunk...like this but more contoured?

(ugh)

i want one of these two, but have yet to come across one. it could be built. right now i'm just running a small box with a ten but i'm still sick of the box floating around in the trunk. working on a solution like this actually.

i wonder how much of a demand there is for this. could it be profitable?

I guess once I get my hands on the car...I can start looking into this more.
I cannot live w/out bass. Even my Miata has a MSP sub/amp rack custom installed in the trunk...and I can still fit misc items and groceries in there lol.

I'm surprised that the GTs w/the BOSE system doesn't have a sub...wtf?

i actuyally just made a sub box fits nicely was gonna go the route like in the picture but will take hours because of fiberglass and all that takes forever made a simple one that saves space i like it ill get pics soon kinda looks like the one on ebay but a lil different

http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Mazda-6-...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cadd61abd

you really lose very little room because the box goes into the whole that you have aty back if trunk i also removed liner and have it go in like that looks good imo

Looks good, but I plan on doing the folding seat mod...I like the option of being able to add a few cubic ft of space by dropping them (miss the P5's folding rears).

Check it out:
Plans for interior is swap out the stock unit for a double din & get something like the sub enclosure shown below...

yes it does...its mounted to the bottom of the rear deck. its just a bad open air 8", but there is a thread in the howto section (authored by me) with instructions on making a pre-amp for like $10 to increase the output..

Ahhh...ok, I got it. Yeah, that's lame w/it just being an open air 8.
Checked out your how-to.

I found a seller on ebay that sells the side mount:
http://stores.ebay.com/fgseonline_M...6QQ_sidZ1001310466QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322
10's & 12's...pass or driver's side. $180...pretty good IMO.

thats pretty cool to, but it doesnt say how much air space there is for the woofer.
one would have to make sure they use a woofer that plays in very small enclosure. i'd be very surprised if it was any bigger than .8 cubic feet.

thats a good price on those kicker shallow mounts. i remember when those came out. they were way more than that. and any one that heard said good things about em.

i run a comp cvr right now and like it alot. so those might be what i work with.

Word...I'm gonna go that route I guess.

heres a pic of the one i made two 10 inch subs retains most of the trunk a bit is lost but very little plus was easy to make compared to the fiberglass ones

that is if your planning on making it not buying

I'm definitely going for a shallow mount install.
That's too much space. I told the wife I was getting a car w/a trunk lol.
