Buying new wheels, using existing tires?

Hello, I'm looking into getting some new wheels and tires but I have a question. I want to get a set of rotas and some new tires, but due to some circumstances I won't have the money for the new tires for about another month and a half. I'm still using the stock bridgestones and they have tread left (just hit 10k miles), so I was wondering if I could just buy some new wheels, use the stock tires for about a month or two and just get new tires when the time comes. I'm new to the whole wheels aspect of cars and was just wondering if it's possible. Thank you

Why not just wait the month or 2 and get the package.
It also depends on how wide the rotas are

I'm not going to lie, I'm extremely impatient and since I'm going to college in August I'd like to get some new wheels ASAP so I can enjoy the most out of them before I leave. Not the smartest or most economic decision, but I'm willing to do it if it saves time.

If I were to get a set of Rota 18x7.5s would that be the correct size?

yup, stock tires would fit just fine on those...

any offset above about 40 should be safe regardless of your ride height. are you on stock suspension? no fender roll?

yep, the only thing I have handling wise is a rear sway bar, non rolled fenders. I basically want to make this easy as possible
