What have you done to your P5 today?

I wouldn't go darker than gun metal, black is a fad. Someday everyone is going to look at their wheels and suddenly realize that they look like poo and the fad dies.

You going with FD's cuz they're light or cheap or both?

Agreed. They are light, cheap, wide, and strong wheels.

If you get the pin stripe better go all the way....

That's an awesome shot. It's simple but damn that color looks good. Makes me almost wish I wasn't rockin 22v...

And Matt, I say go gunmetal/silver too. You're right, black would be too much. But maybe just a shade darker than your second pic. Really looking forward to how it comes out!

thanks man and ur car is beautiful too i love the rims sajflk;jdlgf wish i could rock some gold rpf1s or gold te37s.

Black is a fad? I worked at a powder coating shop and PC my Konigs black when they first started coming out with black wheels back in 2001 or so. Ive had a set of black wheels pretty much on everyone of my cars since then and my OEM wheels are black with winter rubber. 9 years later and people are still rocking black wheels, I don't think it's considered a "fad" anymore. But to each their own.

I think the black with yellow lip would looks cool. But there's already too much black/yellow going on. The gunmetal or silver kinda breaks it all up.

that is why nobody has them here...

and no protege has them because they have to spend all their money on new engines.

^^ gotta agree... ive looked into them... then poof... new engine.... just like i was looking into coilovers.... and poof.... changing turbo out... and trying to fix a new stutter in the car.... i honestly love my car... but i cant wait to buy a new car with less probs..

come to the convertible side, buy a miata

lol, all "Protege threads" have turned into "Buy a miata" threads on all teh mazda forums i'm on

haha

had to throw that in there....

and yeah, i usually have to protect the protege from the haters.

(and they all seem to be miata owners)

protephobes!

lol been driving my miata everyday just about since i bought it...hopped back in the p5 the other day and had a rough time, the clutch felt soft, had a hard time getting it in a parking space, tried to put it in 6th gear, ect.

I don't hate my Protege. I think I have the only indestructible FS-DE known to man. I swear, I've run it CRAZY low on oil (as in none on dipstick) at an auto-x, I've broken the alternator belt twice and tried to see how far I can drive without a water pump... She keeps on ticking!

yeah, but how many of them are ex-protege owner?

I still loved mine (it was almost perfect in what i wanted to do to it) just wanted something a little less practical and a little more fun since i already have another Pro5 to handle hauling duties
