What have you done to your MSP today?

Just remembered after looking at your HKS that I want to see if mine needs cleaned. Do they just unscrew off the flange? Righty tighty lefty loosey? Also, I heard not to use WD40, so what exactly should I use? I read the How To on this already.

^^ it's really just have your ntp hose adaptaor things screwed into the block, feel around the break booster line for the check valve (go closer to the IM side and you'll be fine, but it's about.. 5-6" if that I think from the BB side) and just cut the tube, and I put some worm clamps on the BB line to keep it tight and.... well that's about it, other than cutting the valve, you can't mess up...

EDIT: damnit, 2 posts between when I started to post and when I actually finished lol. .but this was to GiJoe's reply.

but also, I didn't realize that the BOV's should be cleaned...? I thought all that air should be clean already for the most part... there any symptoms for it being dirty (I assume your talking about inside cleaning) but I would guess MAF cleaner or something like that would work..?

vac block doesnt have any effect on the brakes if u put it in right, it took me a while to find the check valve, i just cut off the rubber insulation around it so i could see it better and then cut well to the left of it

and compared to guys who ripped down their blocks and went forged... everything I've done is a joke.
LOL at least you do your own work,
not everyone can be as cool as us forged engine guys so dont feel bad :D

Well I'm talking about lubricating and cleaning the spring, not saying the air is necessarily dirty. Here is the How To that I found:

but anyway, is the BOV able to be unscrewed? I noticed mine can move but I don't want to break it.

You have any better pictures of that block install Carl?
I do not, but I can take some.

its a snap ring. you can rotate it all you want, but it won't come out without a snap ring pliers. I bought a cheap ass one and am sorry I did.. I've swapped the valve like 4 times now and every time is an ordeal with the crappy ass tool I have. I've never heard of doing anything like that to the SSQV.. I thought it was all sealed up.. but idk honestly.
It's ok, we're still proud of you Wagon. You're a good MSP'er. (yippy)
least I AM and MSPer....

I guess if it leaked the first try would be cleaning it? lol

Awww, that's cute. He thinks he's better than people cause he goes gobble gobble from the factory. More and more similarities to a Nazi by the day. (rofl)

ok so i understand. i ****** up and cut the valve in half. thats what i get for using some sharp clippers. it didnt even fight it.

andyways the question was (and still is) where can i get another one and does anyone have a part #? id like to do this asap. and when i get it should i put it on the bb side or im side? im assuming the bb side. but ive been wrong before.....obviously

I made my own vacuum block and installed it on the BB line, no problems there.

Backer: Do you know where to get those nylon hose barbs that are with your vac block?

IM side and check on onlinemazdaparts.com for replacement.

uhh.. I'm pretty sure it's suppose to be on the BB side, so on the right side of the vac block.... I could be wrong but im 99% sure im not

I'm pretty much 100% sure you want it on the IM side. If you are looking down at your engine from the front of the car you want it on the left of the check valve.

xdjdubx should know what the PN is, or you could check out one of the partouts going on now (focus)

I got em at tru value hardware...
You said it buddy....
yep. but the P5 is still just a P5. lol

intake mani - vac block - check valve - brake booster

technically ideally you should have another T from the other side of the check valve to run your WGA because then it wouldn't see boost...
