What have you done to your MS3 today?

i went to a buddys shop today to talk to him about re-doing my sub enclosure and this beast was parked there. So naturally i had to take some pics of it.. It dwarfed my car to say the least..sitting on 30s...lol

Another step in my ongoing saga known as murdering out my car.

I had my tails sprayed professionally. They were done yesterday but were too light and had bubble wrap imprints on the clear coat. So I took them back in today and the prep guy dropped the left-hand outer tail while wetsanding thus cracking it. They sprayed all four anyways and will be replacing the light this week.

Here's what I have now, they look great minus the crack on the LH tail and a few blemishes that need to be wetsanded/buffed out. Not the best lighting (In my kitchen with spotlights) and using my iPhone. I'm letting them cure overnight then will install on the car tomorrow. Should look pretty nice, though the cracked tail is going to bug the fcuk out of me.

Are they replacing the tail?

Yep, we looked around for one from an OEM source but the shop will be sourcing straight from Mazda for this one since the car is new. I saw them drop it and I nearly cried. You can read my FMW thread here, but this is a quick rundown:

Jan-Paid $175 to have them blacked out in vinyl-Peeled within the month
Feb-Paid $100 to have them redone and they peeled within 24 hrs
Yesterday-Paid $100 to have them professionally painted. They were too light/bronze and the porter wrapped them in bubble wrap while they were curing so when they got home there was bubble imprint everywhere.
Today-Paid $0 to have them resprayed darker, during prep the LHD tail was dropped and cracked on the edge. It's drivable but looks like s***. Should have a new tail in a few days and will have it sprayed to match.

While I'm there I'll probably have them spray the mirror-turn signals and the 3rd brake light to bring one step closer to homicide.

Someone asked me what I named my car. I've never named a car before but I may call this one "Hexed" lol

Which elbow? The corrugated rubber hose that connects the air box to the TIP or the PCV out of the rubber hose?

EDIT

I guess I should say, all you have to do is loosen the clamps and pull it off. Twisting usually helps.

The PCV one. I've pulled the rubber accordion completely off and have it here in front of me.

Waiting for my SU upgraded boost tubes to arrive so I can put her all back together. Did you know pushing more boost than stock ruins the stock rubber tubes over time? Haha I figured it would but not that fast.

Oh and got these in the mail the other day! Locking Mazda logo valve stems!

I need to order some of these. I found a small crack starting in one of my boost tubes where the clamp sits :(

Post up when you get them on!

I thought I'd find something like that but my one that connects the cold pipe to the intake manifold was really loose. Only took two turns on the clamp with just a hand and a socket (no wrench since the bolt was impossible to get too) and it pulled right off. The tube was oblong shaped too! I guess they have been ballooning and letting out air..... Thats proly why I see spikes to 21 sometimes lol.

Very nice!

Yeah I had to combine the methods of "twist" and "pull like hell". There's a little plastic nubbin on the PVC and there isn't a spot for it on the cobb silicone elbow like there was on the OEM rubber accordion thingy, and I'm concerned its not making a proper seal. Anyone with a Cobb sri installed know what I'm talking about?

I took it around the block and about a mile down the highway without catastrophic failure. But of course it decided to start raining. I noticed that it felt like i had lost a little power, but I reckon that was due to wet pavement/no grip. Will check again when it dries up.

For my installation, I just removed the PCV hose and fittings (did not alter it at all) and plugged them in to the Cobb SRI and clamped it.

Hope that gives you some idea of what I did.

Well my car always runs sluggish after mods that require resetting the ECU. So the "first impression" thing doesn't really work for me. Felt slow after my TMIC, my intake, my inlet . . . but im putting down 300whp so all is well.

That's strange. My car usually seems to pull like a beast at first, then gradually get more sluggish.
