New Motor = Small build/upgrades

Yeah I have a few people lined up for the big parts. I need to post up a thread of extra/replaced parts I have though

Yeah not planning on making much, since the old motor burns oil and trans pops out of 5th and gets stuck in reverse, so they would be good for forged builds

Sounds like the 5th/reverse hub selector thing is in backwards. I did this once extremely easy to fix and I did it with the tranny still in the car.

Yeah it started doing it randomly and I have never dropped the trans before. I think the 5th gear shift fork went out

subbin (though a little late)

22v FTW. I've always really liked your car, mate. You've inspired me to start a very similar build too. My motor has 122k miles on her and still purrs like a kitten and doesn't burn oil but it would be nice to start building up a nice DD motor for when my stock FS-DE does kick the bucket I'll be ready with a new motor. And good call on not turbo-ing it, it's not worth it IMO. I like how you planned everything well, took your time and did it right. Well done, sir!

how's the wrinkle paint holding up? i painted my headers with the same VHT paint (no wrinkle though), followed the curing instructions, but it all flaked off. how did you do yours?

I only painted the heat shield, I bet the header gets waaay hotter.

The parts of the shield where the bolts rub are starting to flake. I think I may repaint it with a few layers of VHT high temp first, then then wrinkle on top. That is how I did the intake manifold

So I dyno'ed the car today at the same shop I did in February before this build. Picked up about 5hp and 7lbft over the old setup with no misses this time. Woot.
