what carbon fiber parts would you want for the MSP?

ill have to ask the guys who made rich's hood... theres high temp epoxy out there, but i dont know about that high. does anyone have any idea how hot the turbine housing gets so i can look into it more?

ive considered doing bezels but not any time soon. you think the black looks good? imagine CF... day-am.

in other news, the official GI/GB for the CF eyelids will be going up later today. yous guys who wanted fiberglass, its your lucky day. i decided im game for fiberglass on the eyelids too. i dunno what else, but ill do the eyelids. expect around 35 + S&H for prepped but unpainted eyelids with mounting necessities.
 
Yea, doubt you could do a cf heatshield that could stand that much heat.

Is there anyway you could produce a cf trunk lip spoiler? omg, I'd be the first to buy!

way ahead of you dude. I already bought him a part to mold off of. so you'd be the 2nd.
 
Sweetness, so its a possibility then? I might be getting a cf jdp lip so a cf trunk lip would be a nice addition to the rear to balance it :D
 
I'm likely doing a lil custom work myself... so between eyelids, lip spoiler, my custom stuff and a gauge bezel, I'm about covered on CF.

VERY excited for the lip spoiler.
 
Lip spoiler would be my last cf piece too after the jdp, maybe some interior work but that won't be til later in the year.

You guys keep me updated on the lip spoiler, just in case I don't see the gb go up or something.

What spoiler did you give him to mold off of?
 
I've been wanting a lip wing that used the mounting points from the stock spoiler.

Also, I've seen carbon fiber turbo manifold head shield for the EVO (so I thought). How do they make that work?
 
using the stock mounting points isn't really feasible, as it would require a much larger (longer) spoiler than I (I think most would agree) would want.

As was suggested, I would imagine they put some type of heat-resistant backing on it. Depending on what was used, It would probably work. personally I'd rather my turbo be able to cool down more.

yup wagonbacker was my once-anonymous parts donor. i didnt know if he wanted credit or attention for it, but then i saw the blue letters under his name when he made this post and remembered that probably was never the case... i dont know how i forgot those were there...

ill keep you posted. everything comes through this thread and if you ever want the current status of a specific project, check the first post. i keep it updated pretty religiously and write the changes and updates in my posts. which reminds me...
also for interior stuff - i think im going to post a FS for fiberglass in the stock "wrinkle" effect. once i sand the wrinkles out of the mold, theyre gone for good.

earlier on when i was expecting to make the original spoiler out of foam and resin, this had come up. problem is it just wont fly for non-MSP guys. i doubt the 03 uses the same holes as the 03.5 for that matter. if you want, i might be able to make you a one-off in fiberglass, but CF wouldnt be possible unless you find like 4-5 more.
engine bay stuff and other new projects probably wont happen until late march at the earliest. ill have more info for you then.

GI/FS posted for eyelids, OP update after this.
 
not much, im pushing through my fiberglass orders right now. if i get my supplies shipment for this weekend (god i hope), i will probably start working on the lip spoiler, and probably take another stab at eyelids. theres a lot of useful stuff in that shipment, like legit vacuum bagging supplies instead of what ive been using... most of which is available at wal-mart.
maybe ill make the mold for the mirror cover. that wont be too much in supplies...
 
will you be offering the lip spoiler in cf and fiberglass? and pics of the ebay lip spoiler if someones got one

i hadnt considered it, i figured no one wanted it haha.
similar to this. no pics on a maz though which is causing me and wagonbacker grief. now i have to take off my 03.5 wing to show them how crappy the fit is.
rest assured, the fit will be corrected. simple dremel mod but still obnoxious.
