Replacing my headunit...Suggestions?

My MSP came with a Sony Xplod head unit that the previous owner must have installed. I know what people usually say about Sony auto gear, but this one was pretty decent. Anyways, it is now hissing and popping intermittently and then sound cuts out completely. I'm guessing it's the internal amplifier calling it quits. I want to replace it with another head unit that matches the interior well and is also budget-friendly. The Sony was a good match because it's button backlighting was almost the same color as the factory backlighting and the text on the screen was white. It may sound vain, but I'd like to find a unit that is similar (red or neutral backlighting-no blue). I get lost looking amongst the sea of options. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

I was going to say Pioneer, but you said no Blue.... I think Eclipse's are red, they are good.

I am a fan of Pioneer, I had a JVC deck that illuminated orange like my P5.

I purchased JVC KD-R900, simple OS, 30K colors, Bluetooth and USB readers. Reads CDs and MP3 disks perfectly. Great buy, looks great too!

I've got a Kenwood DDX714. I love kenwoods GPS and bluetooth setup. I would highly recommend it.

my local bestbuy store (national chain) has a alpine headunit for $98 and i am pretty sure you can adjust the background color.

works 100% with the iPhone 3Gs (all functions).
It charges the phone, streaming audio over BT works, iPod controls on the deck work, you can even set it to use the iPhone controls (user selectable).

i replaced my stock head with a $170 kenwood. although i'm pretty happy with how it sounds through my aftermarket polk speakers, i've been told that it doesn't pull in fm station signals as well as a pioneer would. backlighting is also blue, although the newer units should already have the option of changing color.

Clarion has some nice doubel din units right now on crutchfield that has 728 different background colors. If my stock stereo ever goes I'll be getting one of those, they look almost stock.

I saw these too. I'll get one if I have to replace the stock one ever too.
