Sorry for treadjacking Tom but the trianglular design Strut bar I'm working on is gonna be more rectanglar tubing like a GT Spec if anyones intrested and Im thinking powdercoated in maybe 3 or 4 color choices for around $140 shipped. Any more updates on the radiator Tom?

I am working on the radiator project. The first company I had hoped to make a deal with will not have any radiators in for at least a month.

This is a minor setback, however it gives me time to try to find other sources at the racing trade show I will be going to in early December.

Sorry to any of you who had hopes this would fly sooner :(

I am definitely working on this though.....we need one for the race car too!!

I really just need it by next season which I believe starts in April here. So no rush for me ,but do you think you could offer a combo package with two 12" spal slim pull fans? That would be sweet! Just a thought.

I think thats an excellent idea!

Something else to consider might be to make up some brackets for this radiator. That way no matter what kind of car these go to - MSP, P5, MP3 etc - they definitely have a bracket that will work.

(hi) Any progress with this???

My plans for my car have changed (well gone back to the original) and I have decided that I'll stay with an N/A build.

Hence I would be interested in the P5 length radiator. I think that the P5 is a bit shorter than the MSP radiator to accomodate the black snorkel that runs over the top of it. As a lot of people have gone with CAI or SRI systems, or gone turbo and dont have the snorkel anymore - I think that there would be more interest in seeing an MSP height and P5 width radiator.

Is the radiator going to be a single pass unit (just thicker) - or would you consider a two-pass rad? Cheers.

You can add me to the list for a full size if this is still going on

Yes we have made significant progress!!
The build has gotten a green light!
(cabpatch)

We are currently working with a company on the technical aspects of the radiator build.
From all information I have been able to find the radiators in a manual tranny 01-03 2.0L sedan are the exact same as the radiators in a manual tranny 01-03 P5. In fact the Mazda part number for either one is identical.

The build looks to be fitment for 01-03 full size for manual tranny.

As with most of these we will need to get a prior commitment from 20-25 people to finalize.....

i'm committed pending a few things.

...looking for a full size rad

dual or triple pass cooler

price.

I'm also waiting for a bit more information about the proposed design of the radiator. It sounds like they will be going for the full sized radiator which should have a width of 705mm. I would really only be interested if it was a dual or triple pass radiator.

My questions are about the height and whether they will:
a) go with the 325mm height of the P5 and sedan in order to accomodate the plastic snorkel of the stock intake system
b) go with the 350mm height of the MSP which would suit any MSP's that use a FMIC and any P5s or sedans that use a CAI or SRI.

I look forward to getting some more information about the proposed design of the radiator.

Why the need to replace the Ron Davis? Or are you just looking to bring another option to the market?

I am very interested!!! I have the stock MSP with the SMIC core still in because I cant get rid of it. Is there going to be an increase in width, with the BOV and fans I dont have room as it is. Is there going to be fitment issues if I'm trying to get rid of the SMIC core? I am thinking the P5 radiator size would best fit my needs!

for the count - im definitely interested, but not until i get a job (or get to production on some of my side projects).

It is great that so many of you share my excitement for this project!(cabpatch)

I intend to update everyone once all the details are set so that no misinformation is given. With the holidays here, I don't think I will have anything major to discuss until the new year. If I do I will certainly get it on the forum ASAP!

At this time it looks like the radiator will be a single pass design. Double and triple pass designs are great for where they are needed and add significant cost to te product. We have used a single pass radiator on the race car (turbo Protege for those who don't know :D) with no high temperature issues even in the hottest, most humid weather.

The size at this time stands to be the sedan/P5 width and most likely similar to the sedan/P5 height with some possible slight modifications either way. Let me know who this works for (or not) and why.

A ball park price will be determined soon.

Once the major details are set I will start to take deposits.

Again, thank you for your interest in this project! If we can make this work it will allow further projects and products to be developed!

Happy Holidays to all!!!!!(headbang)

i'd be interested in a p5 width, but the msp height.

dual pass would be ideal. but.. idk. i guess let us know!
