Miata auto idle adjuster?

My '96 creampuff has got a low idle - "check engine" light and the Actron unit is giving me a P1794 code number...I avoid stealerships but I'm stuck right now in Oceanside CA for a couple of days. Got any ideas out there?

Start by checking the condition of the "Room" fuse. If it's blown or missing, a terminal on the ECU will not be receiving power, resulting in a check engine light. Does everything else work inside the car (I.E. cabin lights, radio, etc.)?

Hey Thanks, I'll get on it in a couple of hours...the radio does not turn on and the dome light is not working either...my step-daughter had the car for three months while I was out of town on a job and I'm just doing the re-entry thing now. I saw all that was going on when I got in the car yesterday....I'll let you know.

Sorry it took me so long to get back with many thanks..."room" fuse got changed in five minutes and everything was solved....idle's back to normal, the "check engine" light is out, and I ran a can of Sea Foam - half in the crankcase and half in a half tank of fuel - and it's running better than ever. I'll keep checking in to see what's up. Thanks again!

er... you *did* change the oil soon after running seafoam through it, right???

Good news! I'm glad it was an easy fix :).
