2009 SEMA Auto Show
The aftermarket parts industry might be reeling a little from the recession, but the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, an annual trade show held in Las Vegas, isn't going to be any less ridiculous this year. The world's largest-diameter chrome wheel contest will no doubt continue and the booth babes will be out in full force as well. Oh and there will be cars, trucks and anything else with a motor and wheels, too.
We've already seen one preview in the form of the HPE700 Camaro by Hennessey Performance. It will make its official debut at the 2009 SEMA show and is touted as the most powerful 2010 Chevrolet Camaro on the road that doesn't use nitrous. We're guessing it won't be the only Camaro on hand.
As the official manufacturer sponsor of the show, Ford will once again have a long list of project cars on the floor of the convention center. Look for modified versions of the Taurus SHO, Mustang, Fiesta and even the Transit Connect utility van (it is SEMA, after all). Coverage starts Tuesday, November 3.
