Yes..kitties need to be brought up in exposure. And do a little dodge on that one eye just a bit to bring out some color.

you guys just need to turn up your monitor brightness! ;)

I didn't really post process them all that much... mostly brightness and contrast work with a little boost in color. I actually went off of the histogram, not what it looked like on my monitor, so it should be pretty close to right on.

these are old pictures if your at all talking about mine, i just started using a different program for editing recently, lightroom 2, which if you look back a few posts, youll see my dirtbiking photos.

before i was using windows live photo editor, something my gf had on her computer at the time.

I need to get a new wide angle lens. After processing the photos I took with Rush last weekend (i'll post in a minute), I realized that they are no-where near as sharp as my 55-250mm lens and that I really need something which is going to give me sharp results. I was looking at the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5 IS. Has anyone used it or know anyone who has? Looks like a good deal to replace my current 18-55 kit lens.

I was thinking about getting a new wider angle lens too. depends on how wide you want to go, but I love my 50mm f1.8. if I can get something like a 10-20mm with a decent aperture, I'd drop my kit lens like a bad habit. I am getting better with it though. all lenses seem to have an aperture sweet spot. with the 18-55, if you take a picture at f8-f10, it turns out as sharp as it's going to with that lens.

I agree though. The 55-250 takes WAY better pictures. I was in shock. that lens is the only reason I don't already have a new camera body.

What do you have now? and what body?

I am still probably going to get the 50mm f/1.8, but the 10mm and 20mm lenses are WAY too expensive for me. I found the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 on Amazon for $170, and if its anything like the 55-250, I think it'll be a major step up. I really don't have the money to go to the top-shelp lenses. If I were getting paid to take photos, then yes, but for now, I'll stay cheap.

Here's the Rush Photoshoot:

I've taken some killer pictures with the kit lens... but I agree, it could be sharper... we have the exact same setup! minus of course my 50mm 1.8.

also, you're welcome.

HAHA, its a good setup to have, though I think you're probably the better photographer between us. We'll have an even setup soon enough once I man-up and buy the 50mm 1.8

And thank you... do I owe you a finder's fee? LOL
