loose seatbelt buckle

its always one little thing after another. today i noticed that my seat belt buckle on the driver seat is completely loose. Ill break it down barney style if you dont quite understand...normally the seat belt moves forward and backwards but when your not touching it it stays in the direction you left it. But mine isnt doing that. its loose and does not stay erect like the passenger seat buckle. Its still attatched and working, but someone told me that there is some kind of spring that keeps it tight?

Mine used to stay stationary, until it started creaking like crazy ALL the time. I sprayed some wd40 in there and now it moves freely like yours. I'm not too worried about it.

Had the same problem. Could not find the annoying creaking noise for a couple of weeks...somehow thought it was behind the dash. Finally traced it to the seatbelt (who would have thought?)...sprayed it with some WD40 and the squeek went away, but I have a feeling it's just a bandaid on the problem. I tried tightening the bolt that holds it on, but it was as tight as it could be already.

Yeah I also tried tightening it, wouldn't budge, so I'm not really worried about the assembly itself being loose. As the OP said there may be a spring that is supposed to hold it tight that just eventually gets compressed and doesn't work as well anymore.

I've noticed the same problem on mine. I figure its not an issue though, just wish it wasn't loose & was tighter like the passenger one.
