on the hot side. was out me and my buddy in his rsxs me in my car. and playing around in the back roads in the middle of nowhere and come 4th just dropped off. i noticed it wasn't building boost till like 4500 now so i knew it had to of been something, pull into a gas station and its halfway off and blown out the side haha. the 40+mile drive home was terrible. i wish i could get some pics but it'd be a real PITA i guess its a good thing i have a PG front mount kit coming. but, the real reason for this thread would be. if you plan on keeping the stock TMIC or goin with a upgraded TMIC. UPGRADE YOU'RE BOOST TUBES!

Yep, get a 10mm socket on a 1/4 inch drive ratchet and torque the s*** out of those things regularly. I moved them all so I can get to all of them without removing anything. This is pretty common on many turbo cars. If you could see how much these tubes blow up and deflate under the hood when you're on it, you'd understand why.

im not sure if you doods understand, it blew out the side too haha. i can probably put a dime in it, just above the clamp.

Them exploding isn't unheard of either, they are pretty thin wall hose. I used to pop inlet hoses on 2.3 Fords like they were party balloons. Silicone aftermarket hoses are WAY better as they don't get slick when warm and they are WAY stronger.

If you keep the clamps tight and minimise movement of the hose they'll be alot less likely to blow out, too

yup. i think with getting so damn hot (florida heat and humidity) hasn't help a whole lot either. they are just so thin. i guess its good a front mounts on its way, the car will just be parked until then. (braindead

let me know if you need a hand with the install. My car has been apart for a minute waiting for this kit....lol. and ive almost got it back together. If you get stuck anywhere in the install just shoot me a PM, cuz im local.

will do man thanks

Hey Jesse... I'd be interested in lending a hand as well, just because I haven't gotten that deep into this engine yet. I'm down in Riverview. And if you need any tools, I have an OK selection. Will bring anything I can that you might need. PM me if you want some company and/or an extra hand with the install.

thanks man ill let you know! it shouldn't be too hard. ive helped on a buddies STI before. cant imagine it being much different. as of now its parked, its pretty undrivable. so hopefully this kit comes soon!

This thread would be better with pics of the carnage!(naughty)

once i pull everything off il get some pics up. its just a hole in the side basically nothing really drastic.

Here's something I had to do once in a similar situation. I patched the soft hose by gluing a bit of of beer can over the hole and holding it in place with the hose clamps. old car made several more passes that way and drove normally until I could get a replacement.....Molson Racing Team....(drunk)
